Can The Jazz Fix Wiggins?

Only box Wiggins checks is he is athletic and long.
Also nice that he is only 23.
His contract is crap though and he sucks. His efficiency is pure garbage. I'm sure someone might be like "he averages over 18 points per game and that's pretty good.". Sure but anyone can average 18 points per game if they get minutes (35 per in this case) and shot attempts/touches (16.5 attempts per game in this case. That's more than anyone on the jazz except Donovan who attempts 19.9 per game)

Can tell you never played this beautiful game. 2 other non all star players have to give this player the motivation to win? Also win what? Minny is in same boat as Utah. They will make playoffs and miss some playoffs but they never going win a chip. Heck when last time either one of those franchises got past round 2?
Lol. What? I was saying that only Wiggins can have the desire to be great. It's obvious he doesn't have that drive.

Grayson Allen for example is at 18.3 pts/36minutes (which incidentally is tied for 2nd on the team).

To be honest I dont know how people were so high on him during college. I saw he was missing that killer instinct back then. But..it doesnt mean he cant develop it. I would like to see if "greener pastures" would wake up the kid. But dont want Utah to be that team.

His contract sucks but if we get assets and Wiggins then I'm not opposed as Wiggins has the potential to be a 2nd or 3rd scoring option. Plus he rarely misses games. But yeah, it'd be a contract dump where we'd need to receive assets.

When’s Gerald Green’s contract up with Houston? I bet we could sign him for a bag of Doritos and get Wiggins’ like production.

21 year old Wiggins was averaging 24/4/2 on better fg% than Donovan had last year. Can he return to that?

Wiggins' contract is an absolute abyss. You'd basically be moving all your chips and flexibility to absorb him and it's only going to get worse as he progresses the next few years in the fiscal sense.

Getting him doesn't move you closer to the top echelon and that's really all that matters.

It might more than doing nothing, having Donovan's contract kick in, and being above the salary tax every year in perpetuity.

The Jazz have to do something this offseason, but the Jazz aren't going to be able to get anything they want. It's all been building to this. Next year's free agency is ***, then Donovan gets paid.

We couldn't fix AK47. We're not going to fix Wiggins. Headcases are the worst.

Not gonna pretend that I know anything about Wiggins except what I read here and on Real GM, and opinions are overhemingly negative. Not sure how lack of passion, drive, motor etc. could be fixed, chances are that Wiggins could really piss off rest of the team with ''I got paid, so IDGAF'' attitude.
That said, if Jazz utterly fails during this offseason and Minnesota is willing to part away with two first round picks, maybe is worth considering....

How do we know he's a head case tho? It's not like he's a bad dude or gets in trouble. He just gets a lot of flack because he was the number 1 pick and has gotten worse 2 years in a row. Before that he looked really good. It also coincided with the Rubio trade and Thins getting more power.

He also has to play D in a bad system with KAT. Jazz culture could turn him around. The Jazz did make Rubio a better player, if only marginally. If the Jazz could do the same to Wiggins it'd be a huge win

Wiggins, RoCo, and their 2020 1st for

Favors, Exum, and Korver (who’s going to retire anyway)

That I do.

I then try to flip our 1st this year for someone else’s next so that we have three 1sts in 2020.

Mitchell
Wiggins-Allen
Ingles-O’Neale
RoCo-Crowder
Gobert

Then we fill in the gaps with cap room/MLE.

And tbh I’d prefer Wiggins as instant offense off the bench and Royce starting but whatevs.

I think it is easy to talk yourself into Wiggins as a reclamation project because of how much upside there is a how little downside. For example, he is obviously talented and by all accounts is a good guy who doesn't cause waves in the locker room. Also, he has been very healthy and durable (he is one of the tops minutes played over the last several years). His teams have always been better with him on the floor. Hasn't ever been in a stable and positive environment (4 coaches in 5 years, Thibbs, Jimmy B Drama, etc.). The down side is just that you tied up your cap, but if there aren't any good options this year or next, then you aren't really giving anything up.

There are other players I want, but he wouldn't be a crazy "Plan M". I would definitely prefer Wiggins to running back the this year's team with just a few minor tweeks.
