What's new

Game Of Thrones

...Kbhaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains, and that Mad AF Crazy-*** B***h that Just Turned Your City Into Dust.

Eh, I enjoyed the episode. All my previous complaints have been logged. No new complaints this episode.

As of right now Danny sits the Iron Throne (figuratively, because even if it still exists it'll be hot enough to burn even her unburnt ***).

Jon now knows 100% that she's not the right person to "make the world a better place."

Sad, honestly, as she's been our hero through 7.6 seasons.

But let's not forget something here, Grey Worm started killing surrendered soldiers just the same as Danny did. The Dothraki seemed to be having a pretty good time.

I don't know what that means, really. But it's maybe a thing.

Huh.

Wonder how many young mothers out there watching this episode said to themselves "I wish I had not named my baby Daenerys, (or Kaleesi).?

I lost interest in the books when GRRM could not write them fast enough, there were so many story lines the books just grounded to a halt. I lost interest in this tv version because they are not going into as much detail as needed to develop the plot twists. Daenerys evil? Cersei vulnerable and empathetic? Jaime comforting? Arya not a killer? Sansa a younger version of Cersei? All valid twists, but they should take more than an episode or two to develop to make me care. Now it just feels like they are jerking us around to wrap this up.

The saddest part in my opinion is that HBO said take as many episodes as you need and as much money as it takes to do this right and the show runners were like "we had a certain number of episodes in mind when we started and we'll finish this thing in that many episodes."

Eh?

They should have turned this thing over after the fourth season. We should be two or three seasons away from the ending right now. They took something that was great and are making it okay.

Well so much for dragons only have so much fire. Pretty much unlimited. Dany full on crazy bitch. Bad episode imo. I liked the dragon stuff at the beginning, but she went full ******* on that one. Not much satisfying in there at all. Wasted some really good setup. Whoever wrote this **** should never write another episode of tv. Terrible.

Conserve that energy!

Agreed.
If the first two seasons had been the same quality as the last two it would probably not be the cultural phenomenon it became.

One episode Dani, her army and dragon's are dominated. The next episode, Cersei's army, Greyjoy's fleet, are dominated by one dragon.

Drogon really took the night off against the Knight King's army.

I get that they're not following Martin's books anymore, but I don't get how they've forgotten what made the series great and character development. Now characters are progressing way too fast while others are completely different from who they are or who've they've slowly turned into.

Tyrion believing in Dani being a good queen to the degree of tattling on Varys because Varys said Jon should be King and Dani must go, but then releasing Jamie in hopes of Jamie talking sense into Cersei because he knows Dani is going to destroy King's Landing is cognitive dissonance. Tyrion should have never of sold out and Varys death was lame not to mention the fact of fast traveling back to Dragonstone.

Dragonstone is petty close to King's Landing I believe.

I searched google maps and it wasn't helpful.

The grey worm thing I get because he wanted personal revenge on someone for his girlfriend's death. And it also kind of symbolically shows which ruler he follows as he ignores John Snow and emulates Dany.

I just didn't buy, at all, that the same woman who focused so heavily on defending the powerless, when presented with a sign of victory, decided to throw all of that away and starting burning down smallfolk and soldiers who had surrendered. If they show her going straight to the Red Keep and burning that down, I can see that. There was no point to the firing up the rest of the city except to terrorize people, and that's never been in Daenerys's character.

Daenerys's has become the Queen of the Ashes, has Daenerys become an allegory for the modern United States of America? I was sad to see the Hound go like that, he deserved better, without doubt my favourite character.

Im also convinced Ayra will kill Daenerys, Jon won't have the balls, she has the biggest balls in the Stark family.

Funny how that works. Dani's decision making got his gf killed while Jon's, at one point, saved them both.

I think a whole lot of people are trying way too hard to ruin something they love because, well, I’m not sure why exactly.

That being said, this is really the singular criticism of the episode for me. And yeah, things are now happening WAY too fast, both events and character shifts.

THAT being said, they took some pains to stress that the Targaryans are mercurial as a rule. She also has no real Westerosi friends or allies at this point, and she herself said she will rule out of love or
fear, so “let it be fear” was foreshadowing what was really to come. Maybe this wasn’t some off-the-cuff decision in the heat of battle.

For the most part, I have enjoyed this season, and I’m glad that characters are finally dying after a two+ season hiatus (because it’s dishonest that main characters have this immortality and that was a fundamental principle of the series). I’ll hold my tongue cuz I hate when people come together to talk about something they love and then it just descends into infinite criticism of that thing.

I still think the whole plot of trying to steal a wright just to show Cersei last season was lamer than anything this season.
1000%, the show jumped the shark long ago. I'm shocked at how many people are calling this season a disaster that ruins the whole show. I settled in for the schlock long ago, it has been a different show ever since season 4 ended. The writing and pacing has been off for years, but at least these episodes have been entertaining.

I'm sorry people aren't able to enjoy it for what it is at this point, and confused if you've come to the "This isn't the show I fell in love with"conclusion only within the last few weeks.

Dany needs to add to her title now:

Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains. Burner of women and children. Murderer of the innocent. Destroyer of cities. Psycho nutjob.
She is more beautiful when she goes bananas.
