What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

He was impressive. He's going to look good in workouts--quick, explosive, good first step, good handle, plays defense, etc.
Great. I'm a fan. Would LOVE to have the Jazz pick him. I 100% believe that he would be out of reach for Utah if he had gone to Syracuse for a year.

Interesting sleeper is DaQuan Jeffries from Tulsa. 6'5 can shoot, can defend, do a bit of everything, and he's very explosive, definitely over 40" vert. 22 y/o senior.

Anyone know if Utah's had him in to workout?

One of the reasons I really wanted us to draft Anfernee Simons last year.

ugh.... I sat here and posted about Anfernee Simons literally years ahead of time, then he falls, and immediately looks like a steal.... Good for Portland, idk what else to say... Fell right in their laps...

I'll get off it soon, but Bazley is the kind of guy I really like -- 6'9", 7' wingspan, 37" vertical, good first step, tight handle, nice high shot release, drives with good balance and a low center of gravity.

I don't know if the Jazz have the balls to draft him, but he has the talent to be really good. We'd be lucky to get him at #23.

I like this!

Bazley has always been extremely impressive to me. When I first realized he should definitely be int he top-10 of that HS class, I thought he was lottery bound.

2 years away but I'd bet you'll also be a big fan of Isaiah Todd, and he's legit 6'10.

Trying to put together a top 60 board and my brain hurts trying to figure out the order after #5.

Zion/Barrett/Morant/Culver/Hunter my top 5 in that order. Probably going to put Garland #6 with Langford#7, but after that I feel like I'm guessing more than usual.

Not that I think this draft is bad, but it's just hard to get a concrete list down that I feel confident about.

In practice, Coby White is probably going around 8. He left the Combine early a promise. Others are putting Hayes, Reddish, and Doumbouya around there, but guys in the 7-12 range look pretty interchangeable. You could see trades among teams in that range.

This draft is the biggest crapshoot I've ever seen. I'm having trouble ranking players 6-7 to 40... I can absolutely see some second rounders being some of the best in the class and most players in the teens being complete busts.

Jaylen Hoard not getting much burn, or his name spelled right. LOL. Wonder whats gonna happen with him, or i guess i should say - if he stays in i wonder how far he falls?
I still have to watch some of his games this year. What I saw in highlights looked very intriguing but ... that's highlights... they are supposed to look good. I guess highlights + physical and athletic tools make me want to watch more of him.

Im not doing a mock though.

He is JACKED. I've followed him since he was in france and listed as a wing player, and since then he's done a tremendous job adding strength.. Some team is gonna take a flyer, how high is the only question left.

So, including the Deseret News report, the Jazz met with:

1st Round
Brandon Clarke
Tyler Herro
Jordan Nwora
KZ Okpala
Naz Reid
Admiral Schofield
PJ Washington
Grant Williams
Dylan Windler

They're all 6'6" - 6'9" except Naz.

2nd Round
Ignas Brazdekis
Jalen Lecque
Eric Paschall

Mostly wings and forwards. One center and one athletic guard. I sure hope they workout Louis King and Darius Bazley when they bring KZ Okpala in. King can shoot and Bazley can beat guys.

The Jazz average an Allstar every two to three years or so

DWill 2005
Maul Pimpslap 2006
Hayward 2010
Rudy 2013
Donovan 2017

We’re due another stud this draft IMO

Immediately. He played a whopping 140 minutes this season lmfao!
