Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Nwora is strongly meh for me.

Early in this process I’m looking at mega high upside/could be huge busts type guys.

I fully agree with the Bradley and Allen’s can be found all day though.

Consensus is Lecque is a second rounder?

I’ve watched like 8-10 dudes so far and I really like his upside.

Kabengele and Alexander-Walker are early favs too. Alexander-Walker has a lot of “it” going on.

I wouldn't be surprised if Luka Samanic, Dylan Windler and Jordan Bone are three guys high on the Jazz board after the combine. All three tested well. And the Jazz have a history recently of taking guys who tested well at the combine.

Or a Star Trek uniform. Eh...

I'm imagining him in a Star Trek outfit and it's epic.

They have a history of drafting the person who kicks *** in their workout in Salt Lake.

I was pretty meh on Grayson when we drafted him, but I think he has much higher upside than people give him credit for.

Haven’t heard anyone mention Isaiah Roby who I think was Cy’s boy. Good measurements. Stretch 4 potential. His numbers were down this year but...

Plus, how great would it be to refer to Nickeil Alexander-Walker as the Kingslayer?

The 'right' guy for the Jazz to draft at #23 is Jordan Nwora, imo. He's the right mix of talent, fit for team need, and risk/reward. If someone else slips in the draft or we can trade up, then great, but Nwora at #23 should be about the median outcome. If we can get another pick at the end of the first round or early second to swing for upside on a guy like Bazley, we should do that too. The higher upside plays would be Horton-Tucker or Bazely since they can create for themselves in isolation (and they're super young).

Enough of these middling Tony Bradely and Grayson Allen-type picks. We can always get free agents to be 7-10 guys in our rotation.

If Nwora is the pick. I'll go back and dig up my old comments on him coming out of HS, for sure. 3-star kid!!!

I think Sekou Doumbouya is a damn cool name.

But cmon now.. Bill Walton was all over this from day1 -- My pick is Louie the King!

Pretty sure his nickname is going to be Boo-yeah.

I like Louis King too, but Bazely has a higher ceiling due to better quickness and shiftiness. I don't want to compare Bazely to Giannis or Tracy McGrady at the same age, but Bazley is closer to those guys than King. I'd love to see the two of them work out against each other though. Throw in Okpala too.

Here are some Samanic clips from the Combine. He's shiftier, more mobile and more skilled off the dribble than I thought. Also, Jalen Leque has some nice finishes. You can see his tallent. He's got quicks.

Roby is a decent athlete and should be a rotation player. Like lots of guys, it's a question of knocking down open shots. He can do everything else more or less well enough.
