Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

JARED HARPER had a MONSTER NBA combine, it's completely and utterly underreported, he shoudl be on all mock drafts after that...

5'11" in shoes is a very good measuremtn for him, i thought he was an inch shorter..

6'5½" wingspan is a GREAT measuremnt tho... lil Jared Harper has longer arms than Coby White.

has the heart of a lion too. Can't go wrong with this kid in the 2nd rd.

I tend to be partial to teenagers who produce in the top leagues overseas. He didn't play a ton of minutes, but averaged 8 and 5 in 18 minutes on 48% FGs. That is solid work for a guy who played half the season at age 18.

Samanic is going to be a good player. He can do a bit of everything and has surprisingly good feel with the ball for a guy 6'11". He can also add another 10 lbs and play inside or outside. The question is whether he fits where the league is going and whether he's the kind of player the Jazz want at the 4. The Jazz tend to like guys who can handle and run pick and roll at the 4--e.g., Boris Diaw, Joe Johnson, even Georges Niang.

Jazz are gonna like that Kezie Okpala can score off the dribble... He's really tall for a wing who can do that too..

They're going to be tempted by his "Jazz demeanor." He's mature, articulate and laid back. You can tell he went to Stanford for two years. The Jazz are going to factor that in. He also measured really well at 6'9.5", 210 lbs, 7'1.75" wingspan. Also had a 37" max vertical. I've been comparing him to Robert Horry out of Alabama. He can probably be that kind of high-end role player, which would be a solid pick. I just don't see him as a swing-for-the-fence type of player.

BTW, it's starting to look like Louis King will slip to the 2nd round unless he just kills his workouts. I'm starting to wonder if he'll stay in the draft.

What would make you think that Louis King isn't gonna kill his workouts tho??

Louis King has a great 'open gym' game.. he's a finesse guy.. could shoot the ball for real years ago.. He was like an 80% FT shooter as a teenager...

Even if he were to fall into the 2nd rd, I don't see why the Nets wouldnt take him 31st..

King worked out for the Pistons today. Detroit has the 15th and 45th pick. Sounds like he's staying in the draft.

Who is driving the Bazely train?
If he's there at 23, I'd have a hard time passing on Samanic. Productive overseas at only 19 with good size, decent athleticism and a good stroke - should be good 6'10 shooter in the league for a long time. Maybe an Ilyasova or Kurucs type.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he can play next to rudy.

Samanic is a PROJECT.

The PF Utah hopes fall to them has gotta be none other than ---- Brandon Clarke.

Clarke is not falling to our range. His athletic testing and college production will get him drafted around the end of the lottery despite being a center trapped in a PF/SF body and having t-rex arms. He wouldn't fit great next to Gobert anyway

But does he have giant hand pads and great balance? We should probably start looking into that for these guys...

I'm on the Bazley train, but it's got bench seats if you want to hop aboard. I think he should be getting looked at along with guys like Kevin Porter Jr., Nas Little and Romeo Langford. He's a mid-first-round talent, imo. I like Bazley, then Horton Tucker, then Kabengele at #23.

Never know... his age and lack of shooting could end up in him sliding. Every year there are guys who fall down the board... maybe not all the way to #23 but I could see him falling to the late teens early 20s range. I think shooting in an open gym during workouts people may forget why he’s good.

I still like Talen Horton-Tucker and think he can play next to Mitchell, but I'm not sure if he's on the Jazz's radar or not. He sees himself as a big guard. He's 6'4", but with a 7'1.25" wingspan, he has the length of a full-sized PF.

I understand these are just highlights, but it’s still pretty impressive. He looks like a guard version of Rudy on the defensive end.

Thing is, he's only 18 still, and he could still improve his body and athleticism quite a bit. I think he has fringe All Star potential as a big guard or wing. He's making some Paul Pierce-caliber moves in these offensive highlights.

Robert Horry would be absolutely perfect on this team.

What range do folks expect Carsen Edwards to wind up going? I wouldn't mind him at #23 and would absolutely love him any later than that. Can really really shoot it.

I'm all aboard the Carsen Edwards train. The guy seems to fit where the NBA is heading. He can shoot the deep 3 off the dribble, he's aggressive, and he can score the ball.

Physically, he tested better than I though he would. He's just over 6 feet tall but he has a 6'6" wingspan. He's almost 200 pounds which is 30 pounds more than Harper and Guy, 20 more than Bone, etc. but he has similar body fat% to all of them (5.5%). https://stats.nba.com/draft/combine-anthro/#!?sort=PLAYER_NAME&dir=-1

I think he could end up being the steal of the draft.

i'm not drinking the carsen edwards koolaid in the first round. he only shot above 40% from the field once out of 3 yrs and barely averaged any assists with a lot of usage. he even averaged more TOs than assists this past season. he's an undersized gunner and I don't think he can be efficient enough with the minutes he'd be playing.

He's okay. He just isn't explosive, and that limits his upside. Both King and Bazley have higher ceilings, imo. The Jazz are going to be tempted if he's still there at 23. I'm hoping he's gone, or that they pass.
