What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I wanted to come in here and talk **** about aquiring Meyers Leonard and if you just look at his PPG apg and RPG then he his numbers are not good.

But his efficiency is insanely good.
63% from 2 point range, 45% from 3, 84% from the line, true shooting percentage of 68%, efg 65%. Dude can flat out shoot. Depending on cost we should definitely at least look into it.

His rebounds and assists per 36 are quite good and if he took more shots and had any close to his efficiency then his scoring would be good.
26 years old. Makes 11 million. 7 feet tall, 255 pounds and pretty mobile.

Plus he is white

Tony Jones suggested that Brooklyn might trade us Dinwiddie for a pick if they know they are getting Kyrie... Use $10M of our space to take him in. He said it in terms of keeping Favors and addressing other needs.

I like the idea... If I could get it done I'd still waive Favors and do something else with the money.

If we miss on Tobias and Kemba I'm looking hard at bringing in Rudy Gay or JaMychal Green. Green is really intriguing to me. Could provide the stretch and switchy big defender... curious if he could play some backup 5 (maybe in the playoffs when things go small). I also think he is very gettable in the $7-9M range.

I think we could trade for Conley at that point using part of our space and Crowder or Exum plus a pick and Bradley... might have to include Allen (I think he still has value).

Oh man, Leonard is terrible at 11M. Just ask Blazers fans. He has underachieved for so many season (he is just soft, lacks commitment) and now people want him because he had some good games. On the other hand, as Handlogten pointed out, Dwindie would be a perfect fit. I'm wondering what it would take to get him

I just had a thought that I'm pretty sure is wrong, but I think it is a hot take so imma go with it. I have professed my love for Alex Caruso in the past... Alex is the next Spencer Dinwiddie. Both are bigger pgs... Spencer has a longer wingspan. Both have had questionable facial hair choices. People would laugh at you a few years ago if you said Spencer was worth 15-20M a year... Laugh at Alex now but I think he could be a really good option to steal on the cheap.

I’m in love with Alex Caruso (at the room MLE or less).

Do you have a link? Id be curious to read exactly what he said.

Sorry Locked on Podcast... it was good. It does show that Tony kinda has the market misread on bigs doe... suggested that Robin Lopez might get like $12M.

I actually like Tony and David together... kind of a yin and yang thing going there.

I think he is a bargain there... I'd offer it as soon as July 6 hits to complicate the Lakers books. He is restricted but has no cap hold because he's a two way guy. I'm 50% sure that is true... I looked it up but two-way stuff is still pretty new and I am less familiar with it.

There are some guys the more you look at them the worse they look... Like Terry Rozier for me... Alex is the opposite... the more I dig the more I feel the guy is a diamond in the rough... his balding scalp and terrible facial hair give him that goofy vibe. I think he is really solid and there may be more there. Read some stuff on him and dude is a scrapper... knows who he is and wants it badddddd.

48% from 3! 24 years old. Good size (6 foot 5). Cheap.

Do it

^I'm surprised you like Ricky so much. Doesn't he have some jailhouse tats?

I like him a lot because on our team he knows what to do and how to do it! You all got eyes! His control and running our offense had us on cruise control the last 20 games and with a couple more decent shooters added to our team 60 wins is not out of the question!

He dunks on mother effers too... he has a good steal rate (could be good or bad). He just has a good feel for the game. He'd be fun AF.

I can live with bringing back Favs if we get Alex on like a 3-4 year deal for 3-4M per year... I don't think I can be disappointed in any offseason that brings us Caruso.

Looks wise he’d be perfect next to Ingles! I agree with the rest too. Low risk, possibly high reward. But I’d go for Dinwiddie first.

Dinwiddie is on a great contract too. 3 years $33m (3rd year a player option).

Yes. I understood why he did it, but if he got to free agency he may have doubled, or close to it, his money.

He only becomes available if they get Kyrie or Kemba though... even then I think they'd let Russell go before him, but maybe getting an asset and keeping Russell is more desirable.

Get Spencer and Caruso... just win titles.

Caruso is interesting, but he only played in 25 games this year. He played in 37 last year. For the most part, he has been able to play freely while his team is destined for the lottery. He intrigues me, but to say he is anything proven is pretty hasty.

I love the Dinwiddie idea. If Brooklyn would trade him for our late first, we gotta consider it. I don't think they will, but I would.

I'm not sure how good of a defender Caruso is... he's big and tries really hard and has a high steal rate... limited sample size but the Lakers defense was 6 pts better per 100 possessions when he was on the court and it was similar the year prior. Lakers defense is awful so someone trying might make that much of a difference.

I'm driving the AC Fresh bandwagon... jump on now... next stop is Titletown!
