Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert wants to see the Utah Jazz take things to the next level in 2019-20. Can they finally avoid being “the team that’s close every year”? In a recent sit down with Aaron Falk of UtahJazz.com, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had some pointed statements to make. Namely, it’s time for […]

^Saw this in the News thread and thought I'd post it here.
Good to see a team leader is speaking up. If Dennis DoLittle doesn't do something (cuz he's still in charge - not Zanik), Rudy is going to walk after his contract is up.

I'm with those in the other thread who said they were glad Utah lost badly in the first round because Lindsey no longer has the excuse Jazz can just go with the status quo to compete. He HAS to make some moves.

Wish we could go back and re-negotiate the Korver trade. Every GM in the league had an idea that Korver is more than likely going to retire (as he should at 38 years old) I think DL could've negotiated that much better. Burks and two 2nd round draft picks is ridiculous for a 38 year old well past his prime. Stars like Rudy and Donovan, not to mention our role players want to commit to a team that is making good roster decisions.

I'm glad he feels this way and is expressing it. We already knew how big this offseason is for DL. This just makes it bigger. Do not run it back DL. Lateral moves won't suffice either. Time to go big.

That trade was fine. Burks wasn't a good fit on our roster and wasn't going to return after this season. The two second round picks have value but the odds of drafting players with those picks that actually contribute to on court success is rare. Most end up out of the league. We probably would have just traded them for cash considerations if we kept them anyway. Korver is a good role player even at 38. Especially on a competitive team. Imagine how important his outside shooting could be for us if we were able to get a third star/secondary scorer. I'm not convinced at all that he retires.

Guess people get out what they want, when I read it through another report it was in the context of him not putting limits on himself and how he needs to improve. So yes the team does but he was stating he needs to improve and one way to do that is stop putting limits on what he can and cannot do.

But whatever you want something to be or see, it will be and you will see.

Yup, and everyone wants to be big mad about free agency right now.

Kicking nuns to death is my favourite outlet. Otherwise I've got a 5 day weekend and a trip to Sydney planned.

No reason you can’t visit some nuns in Sydney.

Familiarity in the unfamiliar. It really ties a place to you emotionally
