Rudy Gobert selected to third team All-NBA

For as much as I love Rudy Gobert, his trade value has to be at an all time high right now right? He's DPOY, All NBA and has two very friendly years left on his deal ($25 per season).

I do not, under any circumstance, want to give Rudy a supermax contract. I'm not even sure I want to give him the regular max contract of $33+ million per year.

No one. We're stuck with him. No way anyone in the league would give up a ham sandwich for Rudy. I mean what is his value, honestly? Maybe an all-nba team or 2? Best defensive player in the league? In other words, trash. If we can find someone willing to give us a couple 2nd round picks we should take it and run away laughing. Amirite?

So a Super Max comes out to be how much per year? Were way better off with Rubio and spend any extra money on some shooters to surround the guys we already have.....that can take us to the next level! Lillard had a turrible series and both are already out of the playoffs! I have confidence in the guys we already have or can sign to make a good run for the money next year! It's just not prudent to throw good money after bad money!
 
So when has Gail or Dennis shown that they are willing to spend money? Specially money on free agents? What are they saving money for? If your not spending it on Rudy then who?

The cheap *** Jazz damn well better spend money on Rudy! Just give him a blank check to keep him here

Is it foolish to have hope that Gobert would forego the supermax in favor of the regular max in order to give the team a better chance to build a championship roster? I mean it's not like the max is chump change. I don't know how any team will ever win a championship by paying ANY player the supermax. It's such a large portion of the cap...

The only time the supermax makes sense is when the player is easily worth twice that much.

Yes. It’s shady the league us valuing him st. In my job I would take whatever they could pay me. It’s not my job to take less to support the business, he Jazz aren’t going to go broke oayinh him, they just may have a less successful team.

The joke is on you pal. Jazz are about to pay Gobert the supermax - while other teams will pay less for Davis, Durant and Kawhi.
