Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Carsen Edwards is a match for sure.

Edwards isnt a full PG, and Mitchell is a combo, together u get aproximately one full PG. it's mathematics folks.

I know this is Stockton-land and the PG position is sacred but more teams have won championships with dual combo's than Utah has with its PG allegiance. Ricky Rubio was another wasted shot in the dark into the pure PG realm...

they literally drafted trey burke a 6' combo guard under the illusion he was a true pg, coerced by ty corbin the coach known mostly for his suit collection

It's time. Carsen Edwards would be a great 'PG' to usher this in with... He's a PG but more like a backup PG, like Isaiah Thomas, that hopefully is too good to keep out of the starting lineup.. More important than his position is the fact he's a floor spacer,and high-volume 3pt shooter, and can get red-hot... and has 1 fast 1st step so u cant crowd him, plus pretty tough..


I have long said Houston Hoops was my favorite AAU squad to follow from afar and Carsen used to be De'Aaron Fox's backup !! he's come a long way.

I think we trade out. There's just too much talk of trades and finding players who can make an immediate impact on the roster amongst Jazz insiders and staff.
 
We won't make a trade unless its for Conley... if not we make the pick and TJ just said Edwards and Okpala worked out well here. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next week.

Locke had also said he had to reconsider Edwards (making a Patty Mills, Fred VanVleet comparison) after initially dismissing him. So these may be this year's signals if a pick ends up being made.
 
Ya guys gotta understand something Philly would love to have Carsen Edwards --- For all the reasons they signed Jerryd Bayless for...

so it would behoove the Jazz to smokescreen in that direction seeing as they hold the pick infront of them....

Maybe they can bluff them..
 
It all comes down to whether or not there's a guy DL wants (since he's still the 'decision-maker'). If a player is there, we'll draft him. If not, DL will try and trade the pick.

Maybe, but when have the Jazz ever smokescreened? We've known in the leadup to the most recent drafts through the Jazz media that they've liked Allen, Mitchell, Bradley, Lyles. I guess it would be fun if they picked someone no one expects, but I wouldn't anticipate it.

The idea is that when other teams zig, you zag, and with teams going smaller in the front court, a guy like Bradley can dominate the offensive glass, make put-backs and force the other team to adjust. It's not a bad strategy. You can see how effective Kanter was on offense just picking up the trash around the hoop. Bradley is pretty much the same concept. He's a big body with a 9'4+" standing reach and has nice touch around the rim.

Or they lied. I hope they lied. Because that would mean they know how NBA basketball works and are devoted to repping their players.
 
On @Handlogten's Heros idea of trading Exum and #23 for Bjelica and #40:

One of Paschall, KZ, Okeke, Bazley, King, Admiral, or Jerome will be there at #40. I’m so fine with that unless someone falls hard to #23 and you just can’t pass on it (although I don’t see that happening).
 
Carsen Edwards could be our Van Vleet.

They are playing Van Vleet and Lowry together a ton with great success. I think Mitchell and Edwards would be fine in terms of size.
