Conley Officially a Jazzman

Question... if we waive Favors do we have a shot at Harris? Or would it still not be enough? Love scares the **** out of me. If there’s a way for us to go all in on Harris we should definitely go for it.

Conley
DM
Ingles
Harris
Rudy

That’s a championship contender.
No. Waiving Favors gives us around $17 million. Harris will get twice that ($32.7).

**** it, I think I'm pro Kevin Love as well. Let's win some games.

Problem being is that after the Conley deal, Utah would have a hard time making the numbers work with Cleveage. I was considering jumping on that bandwagon to, but don't see how it gets done without getting a third team in. Even then? Not sure. Utah's major issue was opening up spacing for Favors/Gobert to work. Conley addresses that issue a lot, but we can (and probably should) still probably snag some shooters here and there. But PG productivity was the killer the last few years, not Favors so much. Still wouldn't mind a stretch four though as Crowder was effective in those lineups.

Thank you. Favors contract only exceeds his value here because we have Gobert. It's continually mind blowing to me how undervalued he still is among a fandom that by now should really know better.

I think we all understand his value. We have gobert though so appropriately we would rather move on from favors. Its best for him and us.

I only read 3 pages of this thread. But lol seriously? We’re bummed about trading for a huge upgrade over Rubio by ridding ourselves of:

1. A shooter who was so old and slow he couldn’t get off the bench against Houston?
2. A rookie so ineffective all his fanboys do is cite 2 meaningless games at the end of the year where he was our only offensive weapon?
3. A terribly inefficient tweener?
4. A late first round pick in a draft looking to be lacking severely in depth?

Seriously guys?

If Grayson and the 23rd were untouchables then we would’ve never made a deal to anyone. This is a great deal for us. We’re a better team. Now we need to get a few more shooters and we’ll be set.

You forgot to include the best asset that the jazz traded. There were 5 parts of the trade from the jazz.

Favors and Exum for Love works.

You're wrong.

- We don't have a draft pick now in 2019 or 2021
- Jae was great for us
- Grayson is still TBD
- We can't do anything in 2019 free agency
- We can't do anything in 2020 free agency
- Good chance Conley just bolts next summer

****ing brilliant DL

Jae wasnt great at anything except looking cool. He was good for us yes, but he wasn't anything special. i didnt want him gone, but he wasnt the answer to get us past anyone elite in the west. Allen is the biggest loss imo(because of the potential), and it probably wont amount to much.. He will probably end up a similar solid rotation player to Crowder.

This trade was a win for both teams.

Not to mention Korver had trouble getting off the bench against Houston due to injury. But yes, it’s a good trade and the Jazz are undeniably better.

Yes, I was upset at the cost. Knee-jerk reaction on my part. I have stated all along Conley improves us, but I was/am worried about the cost.

But I'm good. Happy to have Conley. Let's go. Let's add some 2nds tonight and look forward to free agency.
