News, rumors and buzz around the draft and free agency

no, it doesn't. If keeping Favors was the #1 priority, they wouldn't have him and his agent hearing any offers; they would guarantee his contract now, publicly; then they'd guarantee it officially on the first day of free agency. This is pretty obvious.

Got this off bleacher report sounds like his agent is saying he will be a free agent, but Favors doesn’t seem to know for sure.

If anyone still believes in him (I don't)

I won’t give up until he’s like 29 in Europe bricking jumpers.

I’d take him at the minimum he can at least fill some wing minutes and play small ball 4.

Tampering is dead... not enforced or worried about anymore... may as well start announcing deals.

When they did the CP deal it was very clear tampering... I guess no one cares anymore.
Even the NBA commissioner doesn't give a damn. I think it's a stupid rule anyway. Players recruit players. GM's have hypothetical conversations with agents. I remember hearing the Jazz had evidence of Boston tampering with Hayward but that went nowhere. Unless it's a public statement, league office won't do anything. And even then, it's just a fine that's pocket change to franchise owners, umm, I mean governors.

but it's important to note that the FO is allowing these kinds of conversations.
How are they going to stop it? Plant a team representative in his house and his agent's office?

Outside of guaranteeing his contract now, how would they stop the conversations?
Technically, once his contract is guaranteed, other teams can’t contact him about how awesome it would be to play for them, right?

Or is your comment about the inevitability of tampering?

Celtics were punished... via a curse I put on Danny Ainge... I cursed his neck to grow immense amounts of fat and for his team to fall apart. I will never lift the curse.

They technically can’t even contact him before the Jazz guarantee the contract.

He’s under contract. Jazz could press the issue if they wanted to. It’s clear they don’t want to. Let him go test his market value. If they decide to keep them, it gives them an idea of what type of contract he will be in line for next year if things work out well.

It would be stupid of Favors and his agent to not be listening. The rumors that the Jazz have zero interest in letting Exum go, that alone pushes the possibility of Favors coming back even more.
