What's new

We signed Emmanuel Mudiay

Bradley isn’t gonna play at all and Mudiay will barely play imo. Maybe not at all.
I think Mudiay will get more than the typical end of the bench minutes, unless another PG is signed. He's effectively the 3rd PG, and they've always got a fair amount of minutes every season I can remember.

And while I hope this is the year that Exum stays healthy and becomes a solid player, there's always the chance he gets hurt.

Or Jazz can easily slide Donovan to the 1 when Conley sits and O'Neale comes in. You can have a 3-man rotation with those guys. Then Bojan-Ingles get all the mins at the 3, with Bojan at the 4 when they're in the line-up together.

But I think 9-10 players will get regular minutes through Feb. Then rotations tighten for the final playoff push and Jazz vie for home court advantage for Rd 1 and hopefully Rd 2. Going to be a fight for the first 4 or 5 seeds.

I would think it will be more than that. You can't play a full season with 9-10 guys. 11-13 will get real minutes until April, I don't think we'll go playoff rotation until the playoffs.

You can put down all your money on Conley, Mitchell, Bojan, and Gobert playing 30+. Ingles will hopefully be below that minute threshold but he’s bound to be 5th in average minutes.

It’s gonna be PF-by-committee, sure, but Green is gonna start and will likely be in a restricted 3nD role, with the backup minutes mostly coming from Bojingles and Royce. Davis is likely only playing special teams as a “4”.

I think Mitchell will get the most minutes though I can see Snyder sitting Rudy in the 2nd half once we're kicking the crap out of the other team, which will be more often next season.

I look forward to comparing our record with less than 48 hours rest between games to this season - we should crush it; not only because we're better and deeper but because we won't have to rely on the starters as much and there will be less fatigue.

Yes, Zanik has to go with his bosses decision man come on. Snyder doesn't like Exum has to just work with what he has.

Is it possible for you to stop talking out your arse?

There certainly has been real tough love towards Dante, but there is absolutely zero chance that Snyder doesn't like Dante and he actually does want him to succeed. I mean, you can face the truth or not, up to you, but they have faith in Dante, and that extends to Quin.

Obviously Snyder wants his players to succeed if he didn't he wouldn't be a good coach. He feels bad when Dante gets hurt but would he want Dante to be ahead of where he is now , I think that strongly. Dante thus far hasn't showed much

Bud, stop talking on other peoples' behalf. Just don't do it.

'Snyder doesn't like 'Exum' - get outta here with that nonsense.

If you're going to argue something, don't bring in fake bullshiet, just makes your point less validated.

As it stands now, you're bringing your own narcissism into the narrative, onto somebody(Snyder) that you have no factual evidence for.

Do you think coach Quin would want Dante to have been the franchise starting pg by now ? Yes if he was good we wouldn't have had to burn through valuable resources to get conley and force dm to play pg. Does Quin not like Exum ?w I don't think so I didn't ask him, but is he growing frustrated like some on here also I think so. So many Exum homers on here

Whenever you're arguing a point, if you're found reaching for extremes, compared to what the actual truth is, then that's on you.

It is entirely possible to debate without going to extremes, otherwise, it only seems childlike.

In any case, welcome Emmanuel Mudiay, best of luck on the Jazz.

Niang will start in the regular rotation, how many minutes he plays is anyone’s guess, but it’s how he plays to start the year that will determine if he keeps getting minutes, but he’s to good a scorer and shooter to not stay in. Also in his favor is the fact he’s not a horrible defender. Not saying he’s great, but doesn’t hurt the team. Jazzfanz is totally sleeping on him. Willing to bet my life on him having a spot all year.

People have been discussing this like it's a Mudiay vs Exum thing. But they're on the same team here. Can you imagine how good we'll be if EITHER one finally plays to their potential this coming season? Can you imagine if BOTH do? :D

It seems like Mudiay plays downhill. I like that a lot. I wish Exum would play more like that. Anybody know Mudiay's FG% at the rim?

His shot chart on nba.com says about 51.6% inside the restricted area, but to put that in perspective Exum finished at 47.5% in the same area and Mitchell finished 48.6% in the same area.

All 3 numbers are bad fwiw

Why is everyone crapping on this guy? Have you not watched his highlights? Until Exum comes in and actually stays healthy, Mudiay is a better choice to give us needed scoring off the bench.

Scouts and front offices from 30 teams agree with you. Which is why he signed a minimum contract. Wait, what?

(I hope he gets his **** together this year. They guy has size and athleticism and is very young and could still turn it around). He improved last year and if Jazz convince him he needs to play D to be in the league, he might become something)

Word is he came here because his agent pushed for it because of the jazz ability to develop young players, which could make him a lot more money than he would’ve gotten this year. He signed a one year deal. He could’ve signed for more money and years. His team of agents felt this was the best situation for him.

The CHANCE he gets hurt? Nah, there’s the chance he stays healthy.

Jazz have quite a few players over 30. I can see Ingles, Conley, Green, and Bogdanovic all with their minutes managed. O’Neale is going to play everywhere from 2 to 4. And I expect Exum to play 18 to 20 minutes a night to start off with. Have to see if there’s anything there.

I could see Rudy averaging 36 min. a night. Jazz are going to hurt when he sits. Hopefully, we can keep Donavan’s minutes down to ease his load a little. Don’t see any minutes for Niang or Bradley. Hard to see meaningful minutes for Mudiay unless Exum gets benched, which is a real possibility. I expect a bunch of guys to be around the 20 to 24 minute mark. There’s going to be guys that deserve more playing time and opportunity that won’t get it.

Word is that he chose the Jazz minimum offer over other minimum offers because of the Jazz development program. His market value is low.
