I think people are really discounting the warriors. They will be much better than people expect.

Either that or a total collapse. I can see them either in the top 4 or out of the picture entirely. Have a hard time seeing them fighting for 8th or something.

Could see them playing ~.500 until Klay returns and then finishing strong, just like Utah did year before last. That's why I'd have them 5th or 6th. This might be another year when it takes 50 wins to make the playoffs. TBH, the top 7 teams are pretty even. I agree the Pelicans and Spurs will probably battle for 8th. Seeding may come down to which teams can remain healthy.

Tbh, I have no clue. The 8 that make it are Jazz, Clippers, Nuggets, Blazers, Rockets, Lakers, Warriors and Spurs.

Jazz have home court through at least two rounds and make at least the WCFs.

I think us, the Clips, and the Nugs are the sexy new picks right now, but you are right.

Warriors will still be in the mix. I think because they aren't invincible anymore people aren't giving them enough respect. If Klay comes back and is solid for the playoffs they could still beat anyone in the West.

On one hand it's sad to have Kawhi in the West, and clearly a bigger mountain to climb, but....

1) I do think we are better served in some ways as the not clear favorite. A little less pressure. We haven't won anything yet, so these guys still need to prove it.
2) We'd probably have to get through Kawhi anyways if we were to win a title. Whether it be in the WCF or Finals. He's probably unavoidable.
3) At least he's not on the Lakers. That would be so damn annoying.

tbh, if he'd be on the raptors, i'd not fancy play him on such a lenghty team, with some deeper roster than both la teams (one with a center who spaces the floor and matchups rudy better than ad) coming from a weaker conference. if it is to face kawhi, that at least he had to start going real before conference semifinals

With the caveat that down to 10 all these teams are competitive and playoff worthy (and would all make the playoffs in the east.) I see very little difference in top 5 as well- any of them could ascend to #1 depending on injuries or lack thereof. 6-10 is 2nd tier that I'd be very surprised if they ended up with a top 2 seed. 12-15 I'd be shocked to see make the playoffs. Dallas mostly is lacking depth- they have a couple of great pieces but are probably a couple years out with how murderous the Western Conference is right now, but could sneak in if some of their role players take a step up.
