Westbrook to Houston for CP3

Meh, I don't think this makes the Rockets any better. Makes them worse and they lose assets in the deal.
You think they're worse they traded a 34 year old, dick head teammate for an MVP that averages triple doubles like Oscar Robinson is his bitch? Riiiiggghhhttt.

I think Mikey Dee Anne Anthony can figure something out to go on another tear next year.

Having an MVP and an MVP finalist definitely makes the Rockets a contender in an already contender heavy conference.

My reaction to the trade:

Westbrook is still a force of nature, but he's SO MUCH EASIER to guard by the Jazz. Take the ball out of Harden's hands? YES, PLEASE!!! Give it to Westbrook! Sure, why not...

I'd take my chances that Westbrook gets hot from mid-range any day over one of the best mid-range shooters in the history of the game getting hot any day.

On NBA2K, for sure. Real life is a different beast. Westbrook has shown, over the past couple of years, that he has trouble founding the sweet spot between completely dominating the ball and being passive and uninvolved. Harden broke all kinds of records for unassisted scoring last year. That's a recipe for trouble.

Remember that by the time any serious basketball is played, Westbrook will be 31 and Harden 30, as well.

I'd be so excited to see Exum have a break out year. What icing on the cake that would be. Even if all he does is develop into a somewhat reliable 3&D guy. Would push us over the top.

He sux at 3 doe

OKC got the best player in the trade, a better shooter and passer, on a shorter contract, with less money outstanding, they improved their team, and they also received two first round picks and two first round pick swaps from a team that will probably be a smoking crater when they come due...

and the Rockets got a guy who can get them some triple-doubles.

What a time to be alive.

I thought CP3 was the primary reason (besides obviously Harden) that the Rockets were a matchup nightmare for the Jazz since he was also an elite ISO player and he is one of the best guards in the league at knocking down those midrange Js that the Jazz give up. Was a perfect foil for when Harden was taken out of possessions in 2018, and last year he just had to space the floor most of the time with the gimmicky defense we played on Harden.

Westbrook is awful at spacing the floor, awful at utilising off ball movement, and he's the type of guy who will shoot his team out of a game with mid range bricks/3s and driving straight into the teeth of a defense and putting up prayers at the rim which plays directly into Gobert's strengths. Considering we were only being able to hit a few wide open 3s away from making the series very interesting last year and with all our offensive improvements, I think we easily matchup with the Rockets now which is fantastic.

This is actually a steal for OKC. They will then flip CP3 for more picks, which could total 10 new first round picks for Pauls and westbrick

OKC's best offseason in a long time. They will rise again in short order and it wont be nearly as expensive. Ya gotta figure they'd take Anthony Edwards or James Wiseman #1.

Plus they've got SGA to run the show now. He's almost brushed under the rug, everyone wants to talk about the picks.

Also dont forget they got a pick for Jerami Grant as well.

This was in the cards from early last szn u could tell the Thunder werent worth paying $150MM too

Interesting to see what OKC does next. CP3's contract isn't easy to get rid of I guess, but they will find something, and they still have Gallo and Adams. Right now they might not be a playoff team, but they aren't close to being worst in the league either.

Oklahoma City honestly is LOADED and extremely flexible, they'll be able to move up in any draft.... Ppl will think the opposite but look at all these assets they have,,,

PG Schroder - Gilgeous Alexander
SG - Furgeson - Diallo
SF - Bazley
PF - Gallinari
C - Adams. Noel

If I was their owner i'd be quite pleased witht he haul, and ofc the balance sheet.

I have no idea how Westbrook and Harden are going to coexist on the same team...but I had the exact same question about Harden and CP3. And the first year they were together they looked really, really good. I think Houston is going to be a tougher out, as Westbrook is healthier, younger and more dynamic. Whole team could implode, but they could catch fire who knows. I wanna know what Houston's cap situation is? Spending so much money these days.

Also CP3 is one of my most hated players, so seeing him sent to OKC that will likely miss the playoffs and be in rebuild mode makes me very happy.

Dude you’re replacing a smart efficient player and good defender with a wild inefficient loose cannon who’s getting worse year by year. Not going to help them to put it mildly.
