What's new

This is why I'll never miss Grayson Allen

In his defense, the 1st wasn't a flagrant. It was just a foul. He shoved through a screen. Happens all the time. Would the 2nd have been called on a star? I don't think so. The wind up looked bad, but he didn't even hit him that hard.

I think his facial expressions and lack of humility hurt him constantly. He just comes across as a prick.

I could have saved myself some time with my last post and just responded this about this post.

Oh please. If you can find a post of me gushing over Grayson or defending that nonsense, then you can call me a hypocrite (hint: you won't). That kind of crap is unacceptable whether he's a Jazzman or not.

So many people up in arms about two nothing fouls. If it were anyone but Grayson the first one wouldn't have been flagrant and the second might not have been. His arm barely grazed his head.

Sorry. Didn’t mean to make it seem like I was trying to single you out. It was just the wording of your post that made me laugh.

I’m not saying that you ever gushed over him. I’m certain there’s more than a few Jazz fans who want to pretend that he never had a one year stop in SLC. Especially with him acting like a bitch so soon after being traded.

Fair enough. Sorry if that was snippy, I'm a little fired up this morning.

That was chicken ****. I disagree with the thought the first wasn't flagrant, he got legally screened and turned around and shoved Williams right in the face.

WTF is wrong with that guy. Grizz need to lay the hammer down, he's gotten a number of second, third, fourth chances at this point.

Legal screens don't involve holding someone with your arm. It's a smart screen and Allen over reacted, but fighting through and pushing off the hold is just a foul. The guy did a great job selling it too.

Fine. Maybe the screen wasn't legal. That doesn't mean the blatant push to the head isn't a flagrant. And you certainly can't argue it's not a pattern with him.

He over reacts and it's a pattern. He was frustrated and tried to push the guy off him, but I don't think he targeted the guy's head. He let's his emotions get the best of him, but I still think it's just a common foul. I do get why he's being monitored though so really it is whatever.

It bums me out. In a lot of moments I like Grayson. Realistically he's probably a fringe NBA guy who may have the talent to stick, I hope for him it doesn't derail his career.

There was a thread about Grayson on another website and I counted 15 people who made negative comments about his face. People seem to hate his face. It seems like both Grayson and his critics are in the throws of something psychological and I'm slightly intrigued.

Not many fringe guys can score 40 plus during their rookie year while getting very few minutes imo.

I think he's an NBA player and can have a 10 year plus career in the NBA. He's just got to dump the bitching attitude.

Once a prick, always a prick. I excoriated Lindsey for making the pick. Almost anyone available at that point would have been a better choice. But at least the ******* is not the Jazz' problem anymore. Glad Dennis could dump Allen on Memphis and keep the dead guy.

I hated the pick. Tried to talk myself into it after they took him. Can’t say I’m going to miss him at all. Still would’ve either traded up for Heuter or stayed put and drafted Simons. Those were the two guys that I thought would be within reach.

Allen is going to get wrecked at some point. The play by play guys mentioned that you can’t be sneaky if you want to do that. Go toe to toe and I’ll respect it.
Hate the pick. I'm sure he would still be available in the second round. What a waste of asset by drafting him at 23.

Last summer was a disaster

1, that wasn't a NBA game. More of a G leaguer showcase.
2, he got to 40 pt on poor efficiency.
3, he won't have much of a NBA career at all if he doesn't pick up his defense.

Wait, what? Are you saying the Clipper game he dropped 40 wasn't an NBA game? Yeah, mmmkayy, guy.

Playing against scrubs on an NBA team is >>>> than any summer league game. How many guys are dropping 40 in summer league? Point is, scoring 40 in an NBA game at the end of the season with starters sitting is not easy. He has potential.

Best scenario for him would be a less athletic pat connaughton, who was a second rounder. I'm OK with DL taking Grayson at the second round, but taking him in the first round was basically a waste. I'm sure Memphis values a late first round draft pick more than Grayson Allen when they did the trade with us.

Did you even see the players who actually played in that game?
Yeah, they were on an NBA roster. You act like it was against the dudes at the YMCA.

Lol. I just looked at the box score. It had the Clippers starting 5 and they played heavy minutes. Zubac, Danilo, shamet, Bev and SA.

Did you?

How many people play defense by swing their arms at people like that though?
