What's new

This is why I'll never miss Grayson Allen

Do we now get to admit that he has a punchable face? Cuz he really, really does.

Gotta say that I love his smirk though. He’s going to get under people’s skin for years.

Allen is setting himself up for an entire career of getting clowned by NBA players and refs.
He did that at Duke. This is just continuation of being a little baby. Seriously, who resorts to intentionally tripping players and now going to the face cuz he's getting bodied. This ain't kindergarten. Give him a binky and send him home to his mommy.

I wonder if Joe will make him cry when Memphis plays Utah.

He had a chance for a clean slate after the draft. A small chance, but nevertheless.

The kid is obnoxious though. Something about his Ted Cruz whine face triggers people, including myself.

That's it. I hadn't made the Ted Cruz connection, but that's exactly it. Also explains why my mother loves Grayson - she also loves Cruz. I tried to explain to her why people didn't like him in college, but she thinks he is amazing and if given a fair chance will be something special.

There was a thread about Grayson on another website and I counted 15 people who made negative comments about his face. People seem to hate his face. It seems like both Grayson and his critics are in the throws of something psychological and I'm slightly intrigued.

I think Archie's "Ted Cruz whine face" phrase explains it.

He must have been okay while he was here because the players seemed to like him. A good locker room perhaps rubbed off.

Have y'all never seen my avatar? How is the Ted Cruz thing new?!

I'm unobservant and have never really looked at your avatar. Sorry I'm late to the Ted Cruz party.

It occurs to me that the only avatar I could reliably be able to identify is my own.

Meh if this was any other SL player both of those fouls are non issues. Williams actually fouled Grayson first and Grayson over reacted, he should not have gotten a flagrant. For those saying he went for the face? WTF are you looking at? He pushed the guy away and maybe got him in the back of the head, The 2nd one he got the ball and also barely hit the back of his head, probably a flagrant because the NBA views any head contact as flagrant. All that said his reactions only make the image of himself look worse and that as much an anything probably earned him those calls.

Who cares anyway he's gone and he'll never be more than a scrub/ borderline rotation player at best. Good riddance.

Firstly, I wish him nothing but the best for his NBA career.

Secondly, from our perspective, good riddance to a player who has zero defensive upside, and some offensive upside as only a catch and shooter. Not a 3 and D guy, just a catch shooter. I didn't like the pick from the beginning, but I fully understand that it helped us land Mike Conley.

Finally, this is not the way to go about trying to convince your new team that you're an NBA player.

Whatever, the guy has a little edge. He's not half as bad as Draymond Green. The announcers certainly seem biased against him though, which doesn't help him.

I think it’s pretty telling that the Jazz gave up on him after one season.
Stats wise he is one of the worst players in the NBA last season. Most of we were shocked that DL took him so early in the draft. Especially there were good players like Mitchell Robinson and Landry Shamet on the board.we could've saved the money on Ed Davis have we had Mitchell Robinson. And cut the BS about us not having enough PT for someone like Mitchell Robinson. It's not like Grayson played much at all last season either. In order to receive PT, first you need to be actually playable.

And if DL loves Grayson so much, just buy a second round pick and there is a good chance that he'd still be available then. And Grayson Allen on cheaper second round deal would've had more trade values than Grayson Allen on first round rookie scale contract.
