Royce O'Neale Over Bolomboy

And yet, we still should've kept him

Look, I get it. I would take Royce over Bolomboy knowing now what we know, but I have no hesitation taking Bolomboy over Neto, and it's not impossible to think that Bolomboy could end up being better then Royce

Yea it is sort of impossible. I normally agree with you, But I just don't see it with Bolomboy. He looks like a less athletic Jeremy Evans. He isn't big enough to be a C and doesn't have the skills necessary for other positions. He may develop them but as others have said, in preseason, we had Gobert, Favors, Jonas, Sefolosha, Johnson, and Udoh all at his only position. At Neto's position we had Exum and Rubio. Added to that is that Neto was far more proven than Bolomboy before this season and I just can't see a case for keeping Bolomboy. I was surprised that Royce was kept over him, but now that I've seen him I get it.

Also I just can't see Bolomboy ever being more than a 3rd string big. I don't see the potential your talking about.

Where did I say that??

You said you were lamenting this tragic mistake of cutting Bolomboy, and then you explained that the reason it was a mistake is because Snyder is so good at developing potential. Has it not occurred to you that one of the most important steps in developing players is deciding which ones can be developed? Do you think that Snyder said, "I see great potential to develop this guy," and DL said, "Too bad, I'm gunna cut him."

Much more likely that DL, Snyder and others sat down and evaluated where these guys were at the time, where they believed they could get them, what they believed they needed as a team, and then they made their decisions.

TLDR: The reason Bolomboy is not on the team is because pros, including Snyder, decided that keeping him on the team was not the right decision.

29 other teams seem to feel the same way about Bolomboy: he's not better than the bigs they already have on their roster. He's really an old-school 4 and that type of player has gone the way of the dinosaur.

As far as the Jazz go, we're likely going to see 1-2 pretty good players not make the roster each season. Utah is deep and there's just not as many roster spaces for developmental players. I don't think it was simply Bolomboy vs. O'Neale. It was also Bolomboy vs. Bradley. The Jazz were obviously very high on Bradley and likely believe he's a better prospect than Bolomboy.

How is this the right call. Either will be 15th in the pecking order and not play much if at all, at least Bolomboy has that upside. All he lacked was experience, hell, he's less experienced in basketball as a whole then the rookies coming out. U realize Bolomboy has only been playing ball for a few years. IMO, he's going to be very good. What's the point of having Royce over Bolomboy? We have wings galore. Other then Favors and Gobert, there is no sure thing. JJ is old as dirt Udo has already washed out of the NBA once, and Jerebko, really. Need I say more.

Mark my words, this will go down as one of the big mistakes by management.

Well this didn't age well. Royce has now worked his way up from the 15th man... so all those saying these decisions don't matter can suck it... dude might start for us this year.

It’s the kind of thing that’ll help you **** 4-6 times per day. In other words, it’s your kind of cuisine, dude.
I initially read **** as a word starting with 'f', which was super confusing.
