What's new

So Harden,Eric Gordon, and CJ McCollum withdraw from Team USA

I'm just going to cheer for Donovan and our other guys participating and not worry about injuries. You can't completely prevent injuries no matter what you do. We just gotta hope for the best tbh.

Does anyone know who’s supposed to be on this team at this point?

These players are still competing for spots...

G Damian Lillard
G Kemba Walker
G Kyle Lowry
G Donovan Mitchell
G/F Bradley Beal
G/F Khris Middleton
F Jayson Tatum
F Harrison Barnes
F Kyle Kuzma
F PJ Tucker
F Paul Millsap
F Tobias Harris
F/C Kevin Love
C Andre Drummond
C Brook Lopez
C Myles Turner

My best guess on the final team is...
PG: Lillard/Walker/Lowry
SG: Beal/Mitchell
SF: Middleton/Tatum
PF: Harris/Kuzma or Barnes/Love or Millsap
C: Drummond/Turner

Yes but basketball in controlled settings for developmental purposes with trainers and whatnot is far less likely to result in injured than full on competitive play. Even pickup games or scrimmages have less risk.

Frankly I think NBA teams should have something of a say in the matter. It is their often fully guaranteed multi-million dollar investment on the line. What has Exum's injury cost the team?
That’s what insurance us for. For most people around the world, playing for your national team means more than the NBA.

For most NBA players it's the equivalent of sending high school football players to home economics. Easy A.

I guess its just FIBA and not the olympics but thats a far far cry from any of the dream teams. Pretty low talent. It has none of the top 10 NBA players.

True. Still more talent on this list than any other country though lol. The big names don't usually play until the Olympics.

You guys know NBA players play ball.. year round, right? Like, it's their job.

If Don weren't with Team USA, he'd be playing in elite runs elsewhere and he'd still be at risk of injury. Ever heard of Rico Hines' runs?

Teams like Serbia, Australia will give this team a lot of trouble because they play together regularly. Don’t expect the talent level in the current US team to have an easy time at this World Cup

Let’s be honest, Dante most likely would’ve blown a knee or tibia or liver just reaching out of his car for his SWIG drink had he not played for Australia and stayed here during the offseason. Even Curtis borchardt thinks Dante is made of glass.

I don’t think playing international ball is a big deal for younger players. If he was 38? Yeah I could see it then. But not now.

Oh no doubt. I was only talking about the talent level. I wasn't saying the games would be easy. The US is gonna have to fight to win.

Yeah, I've heard that guy has the runs a lot, and they're intense.

So Bradley Beal has now dropped out

At this rate Spida will have a pretty big role at the 2 guard spot.
