How do you guys feel about this signing? Just so many question marks for me. I mean he might be great seeing as we went to the trouble of buying out his Euro contract. But why no on-court minutes in Vegas? Did he hit the floor in SLC? Just found out he was on both rosters cause I didn't see him play? Tanner McGrew looked great in his minutes on court and Brantley is another one I would have liked to see with a one-way legit contract. I mean I get that he's long and I assume fairly athletic and plays the wing, but he looks like he needs to bulk up a little and the signing of Kidd kinda makes him redundant.
 
On the real though I like Bill Howard. I think it will be a tough competition for the backup 4 minutes between Green/Howard/Niang.

Man that's the best endorsement I've heard. I mean I was excited about the signing before I found out he was on our SL roster and didn't play. He looked good in the vid clips I saw - and he's athletic.
 
He played in the free agent camp.

That's the same place they found Royce O'Neale.

Thats all anyone really knows about him. There are a few Euroleague stats, a few youtube clips, and a scouting report from 2011... but not much else.

All I know is that every summer the Jazz invite 40-50 wannabes to a camp. I used to think it was a waste of money, but then Royce happened (I was on team-Bolomboy, but I'm glad the Jazz are smarter than me.)
 
Not only was he injured but I think Howard was under contract still because the buyout didnt happen until after the SL. Maybe I am wrong.

But seriously folks... the jazz have arguably done better with these players than we have with draft picks. It's the 13 - 15 spots. It works out every so often. Let it be and we will know in about 12 - 24 months.

Ingles > Exum
Royce > Hood, Exum, Allen and Lyles

Who would have thought? These pick ups are huge. They were especially important before guys like Green started signing minimums with the Jazz.

It's true that he wasn't bought out until after Summer League. A little hazy on the rules - so he's allowed to workout and practice with a team but not play in sanctioned competition? Is that it?
