*OFFICIAL* 17 on 26, Donovan Mitchell is the Monta Ellis watch thread

Mitchell was the main reason of most of our losses. His win/loss split numbers are astounding. If plays bad he really tanks his team, jacks shoot after shot at low efficiency and the coach has no plan B. And his career 43% and 35% from 3 and measly 4 FTA is really subpar. He must improve or the team is going to disappoint.

By the same logic:

Mitchell was the main reason of most of our wins. His win/loss split numbers are astounding. If plays bad the rest of the team can't pick up the slack and the coach has no plan B. The team must improve or they'll continue to disappoint when Donovan doesn't bail them out.

As for the Monta Ellis comparisons:

Donovan's numbers through two seasons:
22.1 ppg
.539 TS
+5.0 +/- On/Off per 100 possessions

Monta's career:
17.8 ppg, with 2 seasons above 22.1
.523 TS, with 2 seasons above .539 (neither of the seasons with scoring above 22.1 ppg)
-1.5 +/- On/Off per 100 possessions, with 0 seasons above +5.0

Monta did not put together a single season as good as Donovan's career to date. Donovan's far from a perfect player, but he's already arguably a top 5 shooting guard in the NBA.

your mom was telling me all about disappointment and you just the other day

Mitch is very lucky he ended up on a good team that just happened to need some scoring spark. Or he'd be dudded a chucker like Monte. But if he doesn't improve he'll get exposed.

His TS% in the post season are a joke. And his regular season TS% is very pedestrian. Numbers don't lie. DM has to do a massive improvement here. Offensive efficiency rules the league.

Now tell me about all the other amazing 22 year old second year players leading their teams to the playoffs.
I will wait

Good team? Oh, you mean the team with zero players who have ever been all stars?

How how about an All NBA guy and DPOY ? He alone makes a team good. And all those vets on the team counted for something. They all make a good team, Mitch just adds to all of that. If he ended up on some team like Suns he'd be poor mans Booker at this point in time.

Mitch has obvious offensive efficiency problems. You can choose to bury your head in sand if you like
You can choose to focus on one aspect of basketball.
I will look at the whole picture.

Ncoloradojazz gonna ncoloradojazz

Not a very good point.
Anyone on the Suns is gonna struggle to win games.
Not anyone on the jazz will get the 5th seed in the west though.

If Mitchell ended up on a team like Toronto he would have the best efficiency in the league and be the MVP.

You can't really believe in the underlined BS you just typed.

And Jazz are playoff team if any decent top 30 scorer added to that team of the past season. Seriously, 53% TS is not good at all.
