Team's biggest mistake

22 GP last season, 59 the season before, 60 the season prior to that. No thanks.

Jeff Green missed some games with the Magic but aside from that he's been durable for years and as mentioned in this thread, he's a deal.
 
Someone like Robert Covington makes a lot more sense to target. He is a lock down defender, good shooter and a lot cheaper against the salary. He is coming off a surgery so might be had at a little cheaper, it will require at a least first round pick, probably a couple seconds as well to get him though. I'd mich rather prefer defensive first wing to another scorer.

You may not like him and he does have an expensive contract, but at least he can perform several functions (shooting and rebounding) at an NBA level. There are many worse contracts out there. Look no further than behind the Jazz bench, Rxum (sitting there in a suit) has no discernible NBA skill and he has spent far more time hurt.
 
I'd much rather have Bojan on the team than Love, and I don't hate Love like some others do.

I think this is the best realistic upgrade this team could make. It totally depends on a lot of variables that are basically out of the Jazz's control, namely how well the Timberwolves do this season, in addition to how well Culver and Wiggins play.
 
I’d love to have both Covington and Andre Roberson. And also Shumpert. I’d play close games football/hockey style.

Exum doesn't have a $30M+ contract. Love declined to 38.5%/36% last season in just 22 games. At his age, you have to ask if he is in a steep decline in shooting AND health. He does rebound, I'll give you that. Exum is a very good defender who you can throw at guards. Love can't guard a water bottle. But it's moot; I guarantee you Zanak isn't trading Joe, Dante and another asset for Love.

Exum missed 3/4 of last year and costs $21 million for 2 more years. He is younger than about half of this yeara draft picks and has lightning speed.

Love missed 3/4 of last year and costs $120 million over the next 4 years. He is 30 and he will be 34 coming on 35 being paid $29 million in his final contract.

Let's not be silly now.
 
Just to be clear... that is 6 times Dante's contract spread out over 4 years for an aging player. Dante's mistake x 6!!! Yeah, let's say it again... 6 of dante's contracts for an old white guy who rebounded and shot the ball well 5 years ago and played as many games as Dante did last year. And that's your option for "better contracts"?!?! And you want to trade for that? Rust bucket indeed.
