Just hard to win against a good team when you playing a guy like Gordon as a 3.

Why? When people talk positions they mean on defense and Gordon is quick enough (and certainly long and athletic enough) to defend 3’s imo. Offensively, his mediocre ability to hit the 3 and do much so far as offensive creation is negated by an elite stretch 5, a 4 who can stretch the floor some, and two elite shooters in the backcourt who can also create and facilitate.

He is quick enough to defend but offensively teams are fielding more and more players who can make plays from the PF position. That is why Gordon should play 4. He doesn't make a difference against SFs because he can't use his speed against them on offense and he isn't good with off-the-dribble 3s.

His mediocre ability to hit a 3 as a 4 becomes a terrible 3pt shooter as a 3 with defenders who can contest his shots much more easily.

And defensively he isnt that good. He just OK. Not like he locks wings up.

Again this is negated by having there elite shooters on the floor and another capable one in Griffin.

And spy’s bench blows hekate’s away imo.
This isn't true. Bradley blows and hasn't been on the map since his Celtics days. Gallinari is playing out of position. Ibaka is regressing with every year. While I have players with definite roles on their team except for Shai who will get mentored by CP3.

I kind of thought the same thing. Like your bench WAY better. Beverley and Ibaka might be better than SGA and Looney, but it’s close. Galo is hot and miss - depends on his health.

Looking back, I definitely overstated that. I like spy’s bench more but not by much.

My starting five made over 1000 3s last season (1018 to be exact). No starting five in the history of basketball has done that. The fact that my team is able to do that with an "out of position" Gordon is even more impressive, not less; my team has historic 3 point shooting while maintaining great size and athleticism.

Gordon would thrive as a glue guy with the spacing the other pieces in this lineup provide. Curry/Lopez pick n pop sets would leave Gordon/Griffin all the space in the world to attack the basket:

These teams are constructed with no salary cap and less teams. Ofc they are going to be historic.

Blake Griffin doesn't use his athleticism that much anymore. He has become a finesse player. Aaron Gordon has high vertical and is explosive but it's nothing special for the SF position. Ingles would destroy him and trash talk him to dead. The other 3 doesn't stand out in any way athetically.

If you are trying to beat my team with Gordon, I will take it. Also Curry/Lopez pick&pop isn't more deadly than Harden/Turner.

And on the other end, I have a great defensive team anchored by the second best defensive big in the NBA.

I have 4 good to great defenders and 1 bad off-ball defender who is actually the best post defender in the NBA and a decent iso defender. He is 74 percentile in iso situations.

While your team has 1 good and 1 great defender. Harden would feast in isos against McCollum and Curry.
