2020 SI Top 100 Players

Bogey and Tobias Harris are very close on this ranking. Jazz essentially scored Harris-level talent for half the price.
Been saying this one for a while. I think Harris has been fairly overrated, and Harris would have essentially played the Hayward role, which is what Bojan plays. The advantage Harris has is his age and rebounding ability (he sucks at rebounding, Bojan just happens to suck a lot more). But over the past couple years I haven’t trusted Harris’ three. He’s put up enough good numbers for a couple years that it’s hard to argue with, but I trust Bojan’s. Bojan is 90% of Harris at 50% of the cost.

I agree with most of this, and I wouldn't have blinked to offer Harris the max. The age thing is very, very significant in the longterm, which is kinda why this offseason has to be seen as being very, very serious about winning a championship THIS year.

ESPN has there 100-51 NBA player rankings up. Joe Ingles came in at 62. The link is below for anyone interested.

Espns are usually the worst because I think it’s a consensus... so there is a lot of guys on contending teams that get over rated and points scored guys that end up too high. Like Marc Gasol at 61... just a little too high... he won a chip so he gets a bump.

The sequence that made me laugh was Joe Harris directly above OP Jr. and Gallinari... harris is a fine player but so much more limited than those two imo.

Also Jarret Allen directly in front of Favs was criminal.

Lonzo at 68... nah I’m not even sure he’s good at this point and he’s always hurt. Would likely have Ingram lower too.

SGA had a good rookie year but too high on this list...

"Lowe on Ingles' moves: Ingles keeps help defenders guessing until the very last second. He has a fake for every part of his body -- eye fakes, pump fakes and the meanest pass fake since Manu Ginobili was spinning big guys around like tops. It wouldn't surprise me if Ingles has some sort of nose fake we don't know about."

Reported.

I always felt Harris was underrated until he went to the Clippers. At some point with the Clippers he became slightly overrated and then once he went to the 76ers he got more overrated.

If we didn't have Conley I'd probably prefer Harris to Bojan… think he's a better creator. I think he is now properly rated as a good player, but not an all-star. He just has a valuable skillset and size... I also think he's a great dude. I will still be a fan of his but he plays for one of my least favorite teams... that kinda sucks.

Bojan is #48, one spot ahead of Klay Thompson.

So the consensus is that we have 3 top 30 players - DM, Conley, Rudy. We have valuable role players like Bojan and Ingles... top 50 and top 60ish. I think Royce has the ability to be a top 100 player in his role... we've got a really good team. Green and Davis are solid contributors... top 8 we are solid. If Dante gives us anything then we are really good through 9. Even if Dante is healthy and just playing okayish I think we could trade him for a more win now piece at position of need.

If the Clippers and Lakers are 100% with their top guys they might be the favorites in the west... I hesitate on the Lakers, but if Lebron doesn't take a step back and him and AD are 100% they are a handful. Clipps have great depth... I think we could beat them both... not that we'd be favored but we could beat them both.

Houston is a wild card... If the Westbrook Harden pairing works maybe they are the team to beat. I'm not as big a believer in Denver, but that team has talent, assets, and a handful of young guys who could take a leap. If they trade for Beal or swing some other big win now consolidation trade they could be trouble.

If all teams are healthy I think we have a shot to beat any of them. Couldn't say that in prior years. Gonna be a fun season.

Also have a coach that is widely considered to be one of the best

Anybody care to take the time to post a side by side of the rankings for comparison sake?

So far it is ESPN and SI right, don't think I've seen any others.
