What's new

Utah Jazz Basketball

They're both more talented and successful than anyone you know?
No.

That’s not an exaggeration. By a wide margin. One of the few great things about living in Los Angeles is that you meet (and occasionally befriend) some very talented people. There are a lot of them here.

If there were ever a moment to name drop, now would be the time.

What struck me was LS opening with "Another woman cried wolf." You can make a specific argument about KPs condition affecting his likelihood of committing rape, but to open with this idea that women are just out their "crying wolf" over and over is pretty disgusting.
Thank you.

Why? Because popularity is a good metric for talent? We are talking about talent/genius, right?

Talent and success. You seem to think both Burr and Spears aren't talented. You may not like them, but they're both talented regardless of your opinion.

Did I say they totally lacked talent, you knob? Why is everything so ****ing binary around here??

I’ve said this around here a few times, but here’s a recap. My girlfriend (now wife) is in the stand-up scene in LA. And plays big venues like the Comedy Store, etc. I’ve been to hundreds of shows over the years. I can tell you—with plenty of experience—that Burr is an average talent. He’s lucky to have been so close to Louis CK’s star.

And do I really need to present you with evidence that Brittany Spears has a talent-level that’s way below the rewards that the music industry has milked out of her? Cmon bro.

Bill Burr is one of the greatest comics ever. Dude is on every top comic list. I'm sure less funny, less successful comedians think he's average - that's cute.

Who's your wife. Would love to watch her stand up.

Spears, is actually talented. Listen to her songs that were leaked without autotune.

You may not like them, but they're both the top of their professions.

You need to logout of the internet and get out of Utah every now and then.

I'm not going to tell a guy to get hit by a train and get triggered because he thinks he didn't rape her after he tore his ACL. Apparently, you are.

Except, I didn't.

That's not what I'm saying. Please go back and read.

I was well aware you weren't saying that.

One of them is guilty. I don't know who. They are both innocent until proven guilty.

Legally true, not true in reality.

Let the due process work its magic.

I have no say in that.

thank **** we're almost there. Winter is done, spring is upon us, the gloom of the NBA offseason is about to lift. And Utah Jazz basketball is about to be as attractive and exciting to watch as one could possibly imagine. I can't wait to watch Mike Conley every night, and our offense is gonna rain down fire on fools.

I only get to watch a few games a year, but they are the best things on television, every time.

Obvious take: I like watching the Jazz most when they score more points than the opponent.

Downer take: I enjoyed Ingles less last year than any year prior. I get the sense that he has lost some of the magic/joy/excitement/passion for playing in the NBA. Also, doesn't seem like he cares as much for the team and fans as we do for him (not to be confused with how he feels for teammates/coaches). I don't hold it against him, because it is just a job and he is dealing with more important issues in his life, but it does make him less interesting than before. Players not being invested in the team make me want to find a more productive way to use my time than being a fan.

Upper take: I love watching Rudy wins games without dominating the ball! It is food for my basketball soul when fans of opposing teams thinks they neutralized Rudy just because their center was able to score against him, and then complain that the perimeter players didn't step up to help :)

How about a guess, even if not sure. 0 can be included as a guess because it's a number.

Fine I'll deviate from my Ron Swanson say nothing speeches in this thread.

We win 16 games because that is how many are required to win the NBA championship. I think we are good enough to win it all and am going to be wildly optimistic about this season because that seems like more fun than being a realist or pessimist. You need a lot of luck to win the title, even when you are the favorite, so whatever team gets the injury luck or the guy that gets hot or trades for the guy that becomes available out of the blue... we get lucky and win this ****. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
