Rudy Gobert's Zero Low Post Game

It baffles me that people think that a 7'2" center with a nearly 8' wingspan would not benefit from a go to post move. Has basketball really changed that much since I played? It was basic fundamental basketball back then. As basic as it gets.

Good post. I appreciate to research effort to back up your point. I think that Locke wasnt talking about Rudy developing his back to the basket game but adding a 5-10 foot shot that he can make at a consistant clip. That way he can punish drop bigs gaurding against his lob threat when our three ball goes cold.

Lol I literally posted the entire quote. Is that what Locke said? How is it possible that the only thing you Utahns can read beyond a 1st graders level is a Bible?

I dont see this discussion going anywhere.

Rudy is a defensive anchor with an amazing ability to apply pressure down under the basket. I will miss favors 1-2 punch when rudys offensive game sputters.

But he is who he is and dont expect him to suddenly develop a hakeem dream hook.

He is a net positive on the team at any rate. Its up to our shooters to space the floor and put the ball into the basket.

READ/LISTEN TO THE FRUCKING QUOTE YOU IDIOT!

Did Locke or I mention an unblockable Hakeem dream shake or hook? Wow you people are moronic

Here I’ll post it again JUST FOR YOU: https://1280thezone.com/david-locke-says-jazz-will-be-as-good-as-mitchell-gobert-can-be-this-season/

“OUTSIDE 3 FEET, RUDY IS SHOOTING, Y’KNOW IN THE 30’s. AND THAT’S AN AREA OF HIS GAME THAT HAS TO CHANGE. HE’S GOT TO BE ABLE TO SCORE WHEN THERE’S A DEFENDER BETWEEN HIM AND THE BASKET AT SOME REASONABLE RATE.

“It doesn’t have to be high - it just has to be enough that if somebody switches Harrison Barnes onto him, he can take Harrison Barnes down to the paint and PUNISH THEM FOR IT...”

Wow you are so full of shhite and you know it. But please tell me approximately how many hook shots in total you’ve seen Rudy make, or take? Total career or per season, however you’d like lol.

Not a lot, but some. I didn't count them as they happened.
You sir are full of it.

Oh is that what a said? That if Rudy just works on his post game, he’d be an all-time great or the Jazz would win a chip? Please don’t twist my point into insanity. As Locke mentioned it’s just a necessary step to go further, no more no less. That’s called player and development and improvement d1ckw@d. And yes that’s part of the road to a chip. That alone doesn’t solve anything lol

Here is exactly what you posted:
Do you want the Jazz to win a championship or just be really good?

Does Rudy really want to be one of the best basketball players of all time (as he repeatedly says) or just be really really good?

Kind of stupid questions don't you think?
Obviously Rudy wants to be as good as he can possibly be. Obviously fans of the jazz want championships.

You are kinda dumb aren't you?

Did I say he literally NEVER took them? How would I know how god awful they looked if he literally NEVER took any?

You said literally zero.
From your post: Rudy to show ZERO ability to throw a jumphook after six years in the league should be concerning.

I know I didn't say he literally takes hook shots all the time, simply more than the zero times like you claimed in the post I was disputing.

Yes and Rudy’s never shown ANY kind of improvement in THAT part of his game in real competition, as opposed to what he might do in practice. And again I mean ZERO signs of growth there. Which is why I’m mentioning it here, and why David Locked has talked about it on multiple occasions. I just provided you with the link and the quote - maybe you should check it out.

Equating the Jazz winning a championship to a flying cat doesn’t engender a lot of faith in their ability to get there lol

And what’s the difference between zero and near-zero? And when someone’s uses the phrase “zero” in everyday life, how many times does that equal 0.000000, and how many times is it equivalent to 0.0001?

The absurdity/banality/pointlessness (“well you said 0.0000000”) of your response almost leaves me speechless.

Rudy’s made (literally) several jump shots outside of ten feet in the past six years too. Does that mean he’s made/taken ZERO shots outside of 10 ft? Practically speaking (given his shot chart), NO!

Well first off the Bible is the most influential book ever written and has shaped the history of the known world. Perhaps you should read it.

Second, Locke didnt specify what kind of shots he wanted Rudy to develop but has said he doesnt want Rudy to develop back to the basket offense. Which leaves face to the basket development. As a person who listens to his show, the ringer, dunked on, winging it, the pull up, the lowe post, drive and dish and many other nba podcasts 8 hours during every workday I can say that you sir are full of ****.

It's ok sometimes to just admit you were wrong or miss spoke.
So you meant he rarely does hook shots rather than never. Just say that then and I would either agree or not comment.

No. Several is more than zero.

So what’s the count at then for his total career taken/made hook shots outside 2 ft? Seeing as you claim to have actually taken count of every single one. I can’t wait to hear the number from Mr Jazz Abacus

Sent from my iPhone using JazzFanz mobile app
More than zero which is all I ever claimed.
