Rudy Gobert's Zero Low Post Game

Who’s we? You and your 18 Morman children?

Again as I said, I don’t care if it’s a hook or a push shot in reality. And that wasn’t Locke’s point. The point is he can’t make ANYTHING (whatever the kind of shot it might be) outside of 3 ft in gametime minutes. And everyone knows it. THAT’S what matters.

How dumb is the population of Utah???! Oh wait you elected Donald Trump AND Mitt Romney. Right.

How to win friends and influence people right here.

Michael Jordan should have been working on his three point shot throughout his career more if he truly wanted to be the best player he could be.
32% isn't very good.
How could anyone argue otherwise?

Went south so quickly? Because idiotic Jazz homers have a tough time rubbing two brain cells together? Or challenging any of their preconceived biases?

No. Because you came in speaking a bit bombastically and critically about one of the favorite players. You came in with stuff about Rudy basically wasting his time in the NBA and not doing enough to be the GOAT, etc. Why go at his work ethic when we already know he is one of the hardest working guys in Jazz history?

Talk about the game. There are a lot of other ways you could have initiated the discussion that would have turned out better.

Example: "What do you think Gobert could add to his game offensively that would really push him to yet another level? I imagine a killer hook shot. If he gets switched, this could be a great tool to shoot over smaller defenders who can otherwise bother him by getting into his legs."

Example: "If Rudy developed a go-to low post move, how would that open things up for the team? What would it look like? I think it would look like X."

And the thread’s still going. If you really think it’s that bad, then the best/easiest move is to not respond. But it seems you’re incapable of that as well.

Sincerely trying to help you have a more positive experience on the board, SH.

My apologies for misreading your post on whether or not you LITERALLY counted all of Rudy’s pathetic excuses for a hook shot. I actually believed you might have written that you counted them.

Okay then, approximately out of the thousands of FG attempts that Rudy has taken in his career, how many of them (or what %) have been outside of 3 ft? I would guess maybe around .05%? To me, .05% is pretty darn close to zero ability and zero attempts. Or “near zero”. The difference is negligible

And I would honestly be surprised if it were confirmed he’s shooting those as well as Locke claimed, ie “in the 30’s”

I agree that it's not very many. Would have never disagreed with you if you had said Rudy doesn't take very many hook shots. I just think zero isn't the accurate amount so I stated so.

Can't make anything? There you go again lol.
Why always talk in absolutes?

Apparently you live in a world where it's totally cool to use people with disabilities as tools for insulting other people, while believing that objecting to such behavior is somehow weak or childish.

In reality, using that language is remarkably childish (that is, self-interested and inconsiderate). And calling it out like I did sometimes results in the sort of mocking you decided to go with. It's not the most popular thing to do. So I'll ask you again. Can you do me a favor and not use that language? It would be much appreciated.

If I were here to be popular, I’d say that Dante Exum is one of the best PG’s in the league, that the Jazz will win 68 games next year, and that Jerry Sloan was the best coach in NBA history. And that we should all read/follow the Book of Morman.

Lol Dante gets trash talked big time here. You are confused

Are you actually comparing MJ’s lack of a consistent 3-point threat (in an era that completely undervalued the shot beyond specialists) to Rudy Gobert not falling over himself practically every time while throwing up a wild fling at the rim? ROFL MJ’s shooting 32% from 24 ft as a volume driver/midrange shooter compared to Rudy at 7’1” shooting about the same % from 3+ feet ROFL

You don’t think if the 3-pointer had been more emphasized in the 90’s that Jordan wouldn’t have vastly improved that part of his game too? You’re friggin nuts.

I was saying that Jordan should have worked more on his three point shot. Imagine how good he could have been if he shot 40% from 3. What about 50%. OMG he would have averaged 50 points per game. But that lazy dummy didn't truly want to work on his game enough I guess.

Because in colloquial language, and to make points more forceful, people use hyperboles and absolutes. As individuals we don’t constantly question the absolute validity of every absolute or hyperbole - the world would fall to a standstill if they did as you apparently enjoy doing when it benefits your smallest and most insignificant arguments.

Gosh, you sure told me off. I'm so intimidated by your insult, I can barely hold in the laughter.

"We" is myself and several other posters in this thread who have said as much.

The point is he can’t make ANYTHING (whatever the kind of shot it might be) outside of 3 ft in gametime minutes. And everyone knows it. THAT’S what matters.

I agree that's what matters. You don't need a post game to fix that.

How dumb is the population of Utah???! Oh wait you elected Donald Trump AND Mitt Romney. Right.

Who's "you" in that sentence?

Only one of those points is likely to get more than 25% agreement in here.

Bro, Dante gets rolled here way too often. I have high hopes for the guy, love his attitude and effort, but hate his being derailed by injuries.

There's a thread somewhere here where people estimate this year's win totals. (I hope for 55). It's not an outlandish thread. This is actually a pretty good board with a lot of interesting and thoughtful people.

Sloan is one of the greatest coaches in NBA history.

It's spelled "Mormon," and I'm a Mormon but I've long felt like I'm in the minority on the board. I don't think a lot of Mormons hang out here. But I could be wrong. It never comes up except when an occasional troll pops in to take an extremely lazy dig at Jazz fans.

Oh I’m sorry that I didn’t couch my post in such nice and moderate terms that it wouldn’t offend the soft sensibilities of you Jazz fans. I guess I didn’t realize what snowflakes you are lol

So according to you Utah sucks because it elected Donald Trump (I didn't vote for him), but we're also a bunch of bleeding heart snowflakes because one person objected to your offensive use of a slur? You apparently disapprove of Trump but you also think his bombastic DGAF approach to human interaction is laudable? I'm confused. You think you're an edgelord or something because you insult people with disabilities and that somehow makes you cool or puts me in my place?

You're relatively new to the board, right? I see you're infrequent. 69 total posts? Message boards are interesting little community ecosystems which develop general registers of conversation. It's smart to get a feel for the discussion when you start out on a message board. You build social capital (credibility, whatever you want to call it) by communicating in ways that meet community standards. This is basic human relationships 101.
