Something for the hotheads around here to remember

Quin’s teams don’t have a history of starting off the season quickly. That’s been true even when there aren’t many new pieces.

...Anyway, there are several dudes around here who struggle with the day-to-day. I have most of them on ignore, but more always seem to come out of the woodwork.

Would it be surprising if we were hovering around .500 after ten games?

I think we've been undefeated in the preseason the past couple years. Then we struggle to start the season.

This year we suck in the preseason. Watch out, league.

Don't get too high after any win and never get too low after any loss.

This is a really good point. For whatever reason we've always played much better the second half of the season since Quin's been here. The slow starts are probably one of the reasons Rudy hasn't been selected an all star. With all the new pieces trying to mesh I could definitely see this year being another slow start. Hopefully we can all stay patient and not panic too much.

Last couple years it has been schedule related. This year is not too different. Then we go beat the hell out of the bottom feeding east teams for a couple months.

I could see us in panic mode on Jazzfanz at 5-5 after 10 games... we have one cupcake in phoenix... OKC will be good until they get hurt and decide to tank. We are at Lakers then home to Kings on second of a back to back. Clips twice... Philly and Milwaukee... I think 6-4 would be great in that stretch... 5-5 would be good. Anything below that would be disappointing.

I expect the Jazz to start off pretty strong. I mean, they get pretty lucky off the bat playing the Clippers twice early while they dont' have George.

Then again, I'm looking at the first 10 games, and yeah, 5-5 wouldnt surprise me.
I won’t be satiated until we have a start like ‘06-‘07 where we went 12-1.

Anything less would be uncivilized.

Donovan, Rudy, Joe and Royce should get off to good starts. That's enough to win early games, even if some other guys need time to get in sync

We also need to break our franchise win streak this year. What was it, 16 games?

A lot of 50/50 games. Getting clips early twice is nice, but even without Paul they are still a team we likely split those games with. Beat either the clips or kings twice in that stretch and we do better than 5-5.

Snyder does run harder practices than most coaches before the season and early in the year. The team always seems to have a hard time getting their legs under them to start and have cold shooting. I hope this year is different but I wont be surprised by a bit of a slow start. Especially when you factor in all the changes in the roster this year and trying to figure out how to play together and what lineups work.
