I’m 44, in better than average shape (weigh 195, could probably go out and run 3-4 miles at 8:00/pace despite not having run at all the last four months)...

That said, I feel tired all the time. This has really started over the past 6-9 months imo. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with lower testosterone levels as I age or something, or my diet, though I have been eating better the last year. Or perhaps just the fact that I have three kids and they can be exhausting—let me apologize to bigb right now because I can’t imagine his clan, Jesus.

My post is to inquire whether anyone has any personal experience with this. If I’m being honest, I’m definitely more tired in the 24 hours following climax. I’m particularly tired today and I’ve climaxed twice in the last 44 hours and three times in the last 68. I’m not trying to be inappropriate. I’m just spitballing. I have been holding out longer (for 3-5 days at times) so I’m not as tired during the work week and it has helped.

I guess I’m wondering why this seems more noticeable now than ever before. Is it aging and declining testosterone levels? I’m attributing it to a combination of that, the kids tiring me out both at school and at home, with part of that including less sleep than I’m used to...and perhaps a little bit of a semi mid-life crisis as all this means less me time for me.

Anyone who is over 40 and/or been through a phase like this here?

You lay off that pet shop dame. Women weaken legs.-Mickey Goldmill (Rocky).

You should run and lift weights. It will boost your levels. Eat more protein, fat and carbs. Make sure to get sun or vitamin D.

If that doesn't work, avoid Wayne Kenoff for a while, as his solutions aren't helping.

I’ve been lifting for about five months now (not trying to be funny)...I had been running and then in late June or early July my calf locked up with one second left in what was a 6.5 mile run. So frustrating. Was cruising at about 6:30 pace iirc. Felt great. Under control, not pushing it too much...my ****ing plantar though.

I’ve been eating pretty good too but perhaps I could be better.

The lack of cardio is maybe the biggest factor.

Maybe go do the Doctor and have your levels checked. Make sure your mental health is good too. Depression can be sneaky and cause similar symptoms.

My brother is 44 as well and he has been on voluntary prescription testosterone medication for a few years now. It's low dosage but he swears by the stuff with how he's able to keep more active and in shape than others in his peer group. Probably has just as much to do with a healthy and active lifestyle but I think it's definitely worth the research to see if maybe it makes sense to talk to your doctor about it.

Would they test my testosterone levels first to see if I need it?

I'm 57. The only time I had that sort of sudden decline in energy was the year my allergies kicked in in high gear, and the effects dissipated after I got on the proper medications. You should not be experiencing such a sudden drop-off, I would think. See a doctor, get checked out thoroughly.

Check for hypothyroidism. I have it and even though I am a ****ing specimen I get sleepy sometimes.

What medications/supplements do you take?

I went through a similar chronic tiredness phase you describe and started cutting out supplements 1 by 1 until I felt my old self again Was one of the supplements I suspected least. Turns out the "all natural" daily laxative I took (Aloe Ferox aka African Aloe) -its related to our Aloe Vera plant) is a excellent natural laxative but it said "not to use for more than 2 weeks time due to dependency issues." Hell what doesn't cause a dependence over time? if I'm going to be dependent on something at least it's all natural opposed to petroleum deried Polyethylene glycol - that many Americans and even doctors themselves take every day!

Sure enough after I stopped taking it kidney pain went away.. Found out a natural chemical present in the aloe latex really puts a strain the kidneys. Come to find out, I was taking a couple other things with extracts(yerba mate, ginsing, Valerian root) and extracts in general are hard on the liver and kidney. So no more energy drinks for me, my laxative I use now is called "Eat 2 pears a day ya dummy" and It works just as well. They give pear juice to the kids in intensive care for constipation so it does work.

Yes testosterone will help extremely well but what they won't tell ya, it can shorten your lifespan. Test clinic tell you that? I haven't gone to one but I would imagine it doesn't get mentioned much.

I don’t take supplements.

I’m not sure it’s as sharp a decline as you took it or I suppose I made it sound.

I’m thinking part of it is my sleeping habits. I’ve been going to bed around 9:00 on average this school year but wake up too often around 4:30-4:45 because I can’t fall back asleep.

I think my sleeping habits are pretty ****ed up and I generally need a good 8 hours consistently to function without being moody. And no cardio has hurt. And these little kids. Seriously, dealing with kids all day and then at home is no bueno.

Weight training + cardio + eating less (which sounds like you've been doing) can kill energy / desire for sex often etc. Cardio shockingly and underratedly affects my libido pretty hard if I push it. There's a balance there you gotta find. Happened to me on my 20s for a certain period of time until I figured out I was pushing it too hard with not enough calories. Energy balance is a bitch and is difficult when keeping fat off is not easy for most especially as we age. For a lot of people it's either be in really good shape and lack energy/libido or be a little fat and work out and feel better. At least in my opinion. Maybe this tangent doesn't apply to you but it's my experience. If youre done with kids I'd get on trt. You're also athletic and it will make working out a hell of lot more fun. Also helps mitigate the issues I was talking a out. Just do it smart though. Not to high or low a dose. Some assholes are on 300 mg a week and csll it trt. They're red faced and overdosing on ai. On the other end you have poor saps who's doctor prescribes 75 mg every two weeks and it gives them lower testosterone than they had natural . Do a ton of research and do it right. It's awesome if your smart about it. It's also not everyone though.

Just read your not doing cardio. Do you feel like you retain a lot water when not doing cardio. When I'm in a calorie surplus and not doing as much activity I tend to retain water and that makes me lethargic and also makes it harder for me to sleep.

I take a natural laxative daily... it's called coffee. Good for a little energy boost too.

Dude i diet, do weight training and **** loads of cardio, I'm constantly horny... Considered having a lamb shank at work yesterday, (mostly cause I was bored.) maybe Wes is going through male menopause?

Are you still fat though? Doing that stuff while losing excess is great for libido but when your signaling to your body you're starving and dying when you continue to do it while lean is another story.
