What's new

Jazz vs. Kings pre-season tonight

Lebron is a narcissistic maroon. Why is this surprising to anyone? He's always been only about himself but people believed his ********. He's finally outed himself completely.

I think The Decision did more to define who I see him as than anything else he's done... all that lead up just to take a big **** on his hometown and team. All for his ego.

I like him and respect him but this is a clear sell out and spin job... he just said an MIT grad was uneducated about the situation... then said nothing about it. Threw his vote with China to make another bajillion dollars.

Kings were also playing 5 out for a lot of the game.

Stretch bigs and fast pace hurt us, but...

I just think playing tough defense is hard and not super fun... so Rudy is in chill mode a bit. May take 5-10 games for him to mentally be completely dialed in. He kind of has to pace himself with the amount of energy he uses. I'm not concerned about the defense. More excited that the offense seems to be working (just missed shots last night).

It really seemed like a lot of our problems on defense came in transition. There were a lot of plays the kings scored on before the jumbotron replay of the previous scene was over.

That is real analysis.

Even last year the Kings would run the Jazz out of the gym. It could just be the pace the kings play at

Kanter learned english by watching Spongebob and Jersey Shore. So a hopelessly optimistic and resilient sea sponge and an irreverent group of young housemates helped make Kanter into the man he is today. No wonder he seemed immature at times and yet now he's taking on the most mature of themes. What a fascinating transition. Did you guys know he did 50 free basketball camps this year and scheduled 50 more for next year? What's next? American citizenship and a run for President?

The Jazz definitely have a plan for dealing with transition. They have done none of that during preseason. I have to believe that not locking down the transition buckets is intentional. They will use their traditional strategy when the games count.

He uses hella energy on offense too with all the screen setting and rim running and fighting for offensive rebounds that he does.
Watching him live it's insane how much more he is doing than everyone else.

I hope he is taking it easy in pre season.

Excellent observation fish. I hope he continues to relax during the preseason. No real benefit in showing your hand before the real show starts anyway.

Agreed - LeBron has had to do almost all his growing up under a microscope - literally a handful of people in the world can identify with this and most would fail miserably. All things considered he's come along amazingly well; but this a horrible look for him.

Hope he walks it back.

So while we were watching this, LeBron just burned the league to the ground. What a moron.

I think that both the league and China must be actually pleased with his statement. I don't think that he just burned the NBA, the whole **** storm will concentrate on his person now taking the attention from the league itself. Of course he lost face and won't be taken seriously speaking about politics in the future but he is saving Chinese market. And in the end do you believe that people in USA will loose interest in watching the NBA because of all of that? I doubt it.

It depends. There is a train of thought that Lebron IS the league, same as MJ was. If you diminish Lebron, the league takes a hit, maybe even more that it gains from pacifying China. The real money comes from attracting the hordes of causals, not us hardcore fans.

I mean next up to carry the league from a marketing perspective are the members of the Warriors, how are they handling the China thing? James Harden? So far you have those guys =====> Players smart enough to not say anything =====> Enes Kanter.

And if you think China will satisfied with flexing just this once, you are pretty new to this Eastern relations thing. Now that they know the NBA will jump when they say "frog," they will be interested in measuring just how high.

I've been fairly shocked that Kerr and others have been so damn vanilla... then Lebron comes with the full sell out. Playing dumb is one thing... saying a guy was uneducated then focusing only on safety/financial/feelings instead of offering his take.

I don't know where I'd be as an NBA player on this... I'd almost certainly be a no comment guy... but I likely would not have been involved in political issues previously. This thing is just such a disaster and Lebron done gone and fanned the flames.

At what point is China more important than the fans in the US that buy seats as well as gear?
Did that happen already?

The estimate that I day said that China adds about 4 million to the salary cap of each team. That probably doesn't include merch sales and such though. . .
