Trump abandons Kurdish allies to Turkish invasion

So 120 hr ceasefire is a deal that we “always dreamed of?” And “he just avoided a world war.” And “this is a great day for the Kurds.”

That’s what Donald just said.

Serious question, are republicans just buying time until it gets so bad that they’ll be forced to convict him without much backlash in the senate? Dead serious. The longer they wait to flush this, the stinkier it’ll get, the easier it’ll be to convict, right?

I expect that poll that shows 52 percent in support of his removal to be over 60 percent by next week.

To be fair, trump doesnt represent all businessmen with no experience in politics. He is an outlier in just about every way in just about everything

Can you name another president without any political or military experience who was a successful president?

The record for those with extensive business experience and limited political experience is pretty awful. Hoover being the poster child. But trump seems to be in another league...

120 hr ceasefire is the bare minimum of what should’ve happened. Now what? What’s the solution to protecting the Kurds? Who’s paying to rebuild all the stuff turkey just broke? What’s going to happen to the 150,000+ Kurds who were needlessly displaced? Donald’s record of foreign policy blunders doesn’t give me any confidence that we’ll see real progress in this process.

What deal brings back to life all the lives that were lost without reason over the past week?

What a shame. Why did we move our troops around? Was it really just to protect Donald’s personal financial interests in Turkey? Again, if his past record is any indication...

Ceasefire

That's gotta piss off those that wanted American blood spilled like Pelosi and some of you here.
Called it lol

Whatever happened to you Vietnam hippies that hated war? You used to stand for something and now you stand for nothing but your obsession over an orange.

I preferred no blood spilled. American or not American. I'm sad for those who died

100% but there's no reason for America to constantly police a situation that has been going on for decades upon decades. I mean, what has the USA accomplished besides making a terrible situation worse?

To me this is flat out warmongering. At one point I know most Democrats would agree. Obama ran off of needless wars and it's partially why I voted for him. Sadly he wasn't able to capitalize. While I understand abandoning our Allies is something to be frowned upon, at what point does any of this death and destruction end?

It doesn't, whether we intervene or not.

Yes, the US should not have ever been involved in the area. But we inserted ourselves and needed to deal with it as best we could. This was certainly not even close to the best way out. We have undone everything that has been accomplished in the past few years. Trump folded as he always does with strong leaders, but this time has caused irreparable harm to thousands. Pence had nothing to offer Turkey based on all the crap the president has been saying. This little ceasefire will do nothing to stop Turkey from doing whatever they want. They are already saying that what Trump is reporting is not what they agreed to. They are not going to give back the areas they have taken, the Kurds will still accept help from Assaud and Russia, and in five days it will continue on. Besides, the US doesn't speak on behalf of the Kurds (Trump has made that very clear lately), so there is no guarantee that the Kurds are going to accept these conditions anyway. Trump has played right into Turkey and Russia's hands, and he's too stupid to even know that.

Well as Trump said yesterday, "there's a lot of sand over there. A lot of sand they can play with."
