Ingles is just in a slump. This same exact thing happened at the beginning of last season and Favors was here. He slowly heated up throughout the season. It's not the loss of Favors, it's just a rough start. He'll be fine.

Props to the OP for the thread genesis. It makes sense. Why is it we're looking past Gibson however? Ten mil a year for two is not outlandish and falls under the other contracts. Blue collar guy, by no means over the hill. Can run the p'nr....he'd be my choice. Ex for Gibs straight up.

At least Ingles rebounds are up and turnovers are down.
He just needs to start hitting his threes again and he will be fine.
Good news is that the team is fine even when he is struggling. This team is just better than the last few years. If a guy is struggling (Conley, jingles, even gobert at times) then others are there to carry the load.

This post only strengthens my point, we need more to go behind Rudy. Last year jingles was throwing lobs to Favors. Now? He’s Rollin with Bradley.
If you’re trying to say this team is better with Favors, you are way off. Love Favors but this is a much better team without Favors. A better defensive team as well.

If we could add portis we should do it. Would fit great in this team. Excellent starter. Could even back up the C in small ball lineups. Decent D and better offensive player than he is showing this year. On a good team he would be much closer to his averages of the last few years and would be the stretch 4 we could really use.

I think the Jazz would be a better team with Favors and without Bradley and Exum.

Exum isn't a good player even when healthy and Bradley is a liability. My concern is that we have Gobert and a bunch of G-league players/over the hill players manning our 4 and 5.

I got nothing for you if you don't see this as our primary issue going full steam into the playoffs against the top teams with long and skilled big men. Especially once the game slows down and possessions and rebounds count.

Isn't it also kind of **** talking Joe to insinuate that he can only be good with a favors. Like favors is the reason he is good. That seems like **** talking.

Who said that he's only good with Favors? That wasn't me. @NUMBERICA was just being an ***. Come now Fishon, you're a good poster. Read what was actually said.

Was it **** talking Malone to suggest that he wasn't as good without Stockton? Was it **** talking Dwill to say that he wasn't as good without Memo and Boozer?

Favors made Joe more effective and vice versa in the same way Malone made Stockton more effective. Favors set good screens and moved better in traffic than even Gobert. Certainly Favors and Joe in that second unit were more effective together than Joe working with Green, Bradley, or Ed Davis, right?

I am about even on Marcus Morris and Bobby Portis. I worry about Morris’ affinity for stirring up **** in the locker room, but I am not sure that Portis is good enough defensively (especially on the perimeter).

The upshot on both is Morris is just a better offensive player and better defensive player against other rangy 4s while Portis boards well and could fill the backup 5 slot which would give us a 5-out option we don’t currently have. His contract is also attractive and he seems more gettable than Morris.

Either would honestly be so sick. Given the culture and winning here, I am not very concerned with either of their attitude issues. In fact, if directed appropriately I think it’s a reason to like both.

Randle is a pipe dream while at the same time being probably the worst fit of all three.

Go get Morris, Sr.

Both LA teams are the matchup problems for us. We're clinging to Exum because we feel he's a defensive stopper, but he's a defensive stopper for smaller guards, like a Harden (maybe). Those teams aren't issues for us. We run into either LAs (or both) in the playoffs and it will be an issue much more than having to defend Harden will be.

Well it would take Exum not being ded and being somewhat good plus a handful of second rounders to get any of these guys. We don't have the expiring contracts to go with seconds so Exum would need to have some actual value. So ignoring the reality of the situation I think Morris is the best on court fit but likely the worst locker room guy. Portis gives us more of a 4/5 offensive weapon and a guy that can play some with Rudy but operate as the 5 when he's off... we will get killed on defense but might be very hard to stop.

I've always like Taj... think he could be a better version of Ed Davis... like Favs lite.

no more slander on Joe... he's taken the statistical hit to allow others to be more of themselves. His shot will come around. I think part of the reason we gave him a one year extension was so we could tell him he's the guy that needs to sacrifice and that he could do it without costing himself money.

Joe is a hero and the fact that he even gives us the gift of watching him play basketball when he could be solving the world's problems needs to be appreciated. He is casting a pearl... please don't act like swine.

I think the other body option to guard LeBron may actually be...

Udoh when the CBA season ends.

Morris. Judging by the sample size we have at this point (throw out the Sac anomaly) the losses have been to the LA teams (with LeBron & Kawhi). If the Jamzz want to win it all this year, gotta find an answer for those two.
Rebounding is an effort stat, that's why Westbrook @ 6'3" averages double digits. Rodman (likely 6'6"ish) averaged 18 because he was focused on that. Even Barkley (6'4") outrebounded taller opposition. If O'neale and whomever else is in the PF spot focuses likewise, it won't be as necessary as what Morris can bring the team.
Still, the Lakers worry me the most in a seven game series. Aside from LBJ, they have four big guys to throw at Rudy - AD, Cousins, Dwight, and McGee. They're going to be tough to crash the boards against. Hopefully DeMarcus loads all their bigs up on purple drank... wait, that was JaMarcus...
For some reason the Clippers don't concern me too much even without a defender for Leonard.

Randle may end up being the most available because he has the longest contract. I'm not sure I love the fit there.
