Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors Game Thread

Yes. But the question is will we actually be playing like a contender. Not really worried about the W-L as much as our level of play. Our team is good enough to beat most regular season opponents even when we don't play our best. But to beat great teams in playoff basketball we need to play at optimum. And we can't just click that level of play on when the playoffs come. We need it well before then.
I m concerned too, but trying to look at the brighter side. We will only get better. All good teams have these types of games.

Derrick favors is such a big loss for the jazz. Especially for Joe and Dante. They both had a great connection with favs with the lob. I seen once this game Dante threw the lob to Bradley and he didn't even jump. If Dante threw that pass to favs dunk for sure. Ed Davis is terrible on offence. And Tony Bradley can't jump. Though he's better than Davis on offence

Bojan is nice and all but the loss of Jae and Favs are definitely too much for him to cover.

And I'm afraid bojan is the one of the new guys not willing to live with this ****. He'll bail and I don't blame him.

I really think we should talk more about Gobert. We all know he's the heart of the team. It's clear to me that he returned from that ankle sprain a little too soon. He hasn't looked right since he returned. He's moving gingerly and he's been hesitant to jump and test that ankle at times. Since so much of our success rides on his health it's probably important to point out. A road trip against some of the very best teams in the east is hard enough healthy. When your best player has a bad wheel it's even harder.

All I know is we have a better record through 20 games than we ever did with Crowder and Favors and we're not even playing near as well as we're capable of yet, especially offensively. This teams ceiling is much higher than it was with Favors and Crowder.

It definitely is higher. We just need to put it all together, and we're certainly having real teething problems.

I'm taking Jazz and the points tomorrow, anticipating a bounce back game against the Sixers!

PS Missed the game and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm betting that they killed us in transition.

At times they killed us in transition. But they completely strangles us in the first half defensively, and felt like they made every shot on the offense themselves.

We weren't able to run a simple offensive set, they had a hand/steal/deflection in absolutely everything.

Apparently Quin challenged the team after the game...

Gonna be interesting to see how we play against the 76ers.

I mean, like less than 1% of NBA players each season do this though.....right? I can only think oh a handful in my 30+ years watching the game.
That get publicized. If you see some ice in the water...

Jae and Favors are never coming back. Change your diapers about them already and move on
