What's new

Lakers @ Jazz (7:00pm MTN)

Everybody sucked today. Everybody including Quin should get an F for this. E.Davis gets E because he scored more pts than in his all season so far.

Should we be overreacting? I mean haven’t we had slow starts every year? Is this the same? Come January we go on big run? I’m hoping this team with Bojan will get us over the hump come playoff time. So I won’t get too down on the team yet. Go Jazz!

This is what it was all about guis.

Bet there are some sleepless nights at the Snyder and Lindsey houses this week.

Maybe at the Millers too. They all went in on this Conley deal. Gutted the team and store of assets. Something gotta change.

David Locke said something interesting in one of his recent podcasts, of how after 20 games, this is who we are. I thought it was very interesting he said that, because I profusely disagree with him. What we are now, I believe, is not what a team will be at the business end of the season.

I just found it quite disconcerting that he had already decided that this is who we are.

Nobody wants to talk about it, but do we really want to pay max type money to an offensively limited center?

The aggressive play is to trade Gobert. Screw it. Trade him while his value is at the tip top. In a couple weeks, he will have 1.5 seasons left on a very reasonable contract. If we wait, we either overpay him or watch him walk for nothing.

I love Gobert, but it has to be discussed.

Want to talk about it start a new thread. Cause it’s a legitimate question. One that needs a poll

Also Kuzma should have gotten punched for going that hard on a fast break dunk attempt by Mudiay. That was some BS but we got no crowder... just a bunch of softees.

and no rubio is not the answer, never was.

i just wonder if we could have found a cheaper option than conley at Pg at this point, but thats in the past.

No offense dude, but how can you continue to flog Conley when he's on the bench? This team has got much bigger problems than Conley's shooting slump. We lost this game in the paint. Course if you made the argument that not trading for Conley lets us keep Favors than I am in full agreement. Faves wouldn't have rolled over for these guys - also one of the best defenders on AD.

Watching Bradley get stuffed multiple times, Laker bench running onto the court dancing like a circus show, then Mudiay getting stuffed hard was tough to watch.

I had an internal dialogue with myself of would I take this lying down so much as we did in those instances.

Dali, i appreciate the optimism, but where is it getting better? Jazz principle players are flat or downward on their career trajectory. And the young guys have little or no upside.

It was actually a great quote by him and gained back some respect for me. The Jazz bet the farm on Conley being 2018 Conley and lost.

Real quick story.

My Brother-in-law is a detective for the sex crimes division of a very large city police department. We were out golfing last year and I asked him how many rapes that he investigates turn out to be false. I figured he would think about it and give me a best guess estimate. But he quickly replied "82%". Yep 82% of the rape allegations he investigates turn out to be provably false. I am guessing that is pretty close to what the average is everywhere. I always knew rape claims were majority false but never would have imagined that high.
That's absolute garbage and so is your cop in-law. I don't even know where to start in dismantling this toxic, horrifying hogwash and I probably should but I probably won't.

I guess I'll start with a question: what evidence shows a rape is "provably" false? Just because something cannot be proven does not mean it is disproven. This seems to be what he might be referring to, which is not scientific and is outrageously out-of-wack with other, better information.

That you or he would contextualize that as "provably false" is stomach-turning. It's no wonder that most cases of sexual assault never get reported.

I think it gets better when each individual player in the team says, this BS is enough. Evidently it hasn't crossed that threshold for a lot of them.

Don't forget that the LeBron, Wade, Bosh Heat team took a whole season of figuring it out. We don't have the raw talent of those 3, but we are better than this. We have to be better than this.

My optimism is a combination of looking at the players we have, strengths and weaknesses. And finally, hope.
