The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Every time Trump bellows about the "do nothing Democrats", remind everyone of do nothing Moscow Mitch...

It keeps surprising me that conservatives seem to believe that a Democrat will be in office if Trump is removed, and that this is the motivation behind the impeachment proceedings.
It gets less surprising when you consider that Trumpers are idiots by definition

Yep

Past few weeks have been the best of Trump's presidency

"Ah, say the critics, but this good news was bookended by the dark cloud of impeachment, which dimmed the luster of Trump’s successes. The opposite is true. Many of these successes happened precisely because of impeachment. Until now, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had been dragging her feet on the USMCA and other Trump priorities. So why did the legislative logjam break precisely the same week that Democrats introduced their articles of impeachment?

Because Democrats know that voters see them focusing on impeachment at the expense of getting things done. Moderate Democrats running in Trump districts have seen the polling showing that two-thirds of swing-state voters who cast their ballots for Trump in 2016, but then voted for Democrats in 2018, plan to back Trump again in 2020. One of them, Rep. Jeff Van Drew, D-N.J., was so alarmed he is switching to the Republican Party. As the rest of the Democrats are forced to walk the plank on impeachment, they are desperate to show that they are also working with Trump on the kitchen-table issues they campaigned on. Trump didn’t get all this done despite impeachment; impeachment is the reason Democrats allowed gridlock to finally give way."

Uh huh.

Impeachment debate a hyper-partisan, hate-filled charade: Battenfeld
Dems’ circus act predictable and overwrought

"It was about as predictable and overwrought as a WWE bout, a hyper-partisan and hate-filled charade masquerading as an historic and somber moment in American history.

The carefully choreographed circus that unfolded in the House of Representatives was something House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once promised she never wanted — a purely political vote that at least half of American voters don’t support.

House Democrats on Wednesday actually had to be coached not to cheer impeachment of just the third president in U.S. history, making it sound like what they were doing was with “heavy hearts.”"

I love Rush Limbaugh's analysis.

Limbaugh Responds To Impeachment Vote: This Is Not About What Democrats And Media Say It’s About
https://www.dailywire.com/news/limb...-about-what-democrats-and-media-say-its-about

"The real reason the Democrats just went through weeks of interviews and hearings and held their big vote yesterday is actually about what happened three years ago.

“They can’t let go of what they thought 2016 was gonna produce,” said Limbaugh. “They are still locked in on that. They’re still focusing on it, still hoping that the allegation that Trump’s 2016 election was illegitimate.”

So what are the Democrats accusing him of? His so-called “impeachable” offense comes down to simply “asking questions” about his opponents’ attempts to take him out.

“All Trump has done is ask questions,” said Limbaugh. “One of the questions was of the president of Ukraine. Trump is asking questions. He’s got investigations going, trying to find out what happened to him. Who did this to him? Who did this to his voters? Who’s in the process of trying to disenfranchise his voters. He’s simply asking questions. He’s being impeached for trying to get answers.”"
