Jazz Sign Rayjon Tucker

He hasn’t played at all. It’s funny because a lot of people are invoking Ingles and O’Neale, which is fine and if you’re being optimistic he hits that level, but that’s years away and you zoom out and look at the idea that we’re supposed to be contenders yet we’re opening roster spots for G League guys, when the guys we already have haven’t played. A lot of people tickling the FO’s assholes but would also be crucifying homeytennis if he suggested something like this, or had a good laugh about how homey is being homey.

There were many teams looking to sign this kid, not just us. I would say that means he has the potential to have an impact for the Jazz, just not sure how significant an impact that will be until we see him against NBA competition. But along with Clarkson, they give us some youth and energy off the bench, which Exum and Green were not giving us. Definitely an upgrade that we needed.

Any chance the Jazz are trying to package enough assets together to get Favors back from New Orleans? They have to be making these moves to get a backup big man, since that is our biggest weakness.

Although that would be awesome. I don’t think we can trade for Favors. Best we can hope for is to resign him in the off season when he’s a FA.

I like the energy angle and am happy to see the Jeff 'toxic' Green go but it's all about the playoffs now and Utah's major weaknesses still remain unaddressed: toughness, rebounding, PF.

Another reason I hated trading Crowder away. He provided us with that toughness, he could play the 3-4 and hit the 3. He wasn't an elite rebounder, but he was afraid to get in there and battle.

This is where I’d love to see Brantley and Morgan called up pronto. Get them minutes now. This is also why I’d love to sign Faried. Could waiving Green be a prelude to that?

It’s a pretty simple formula, really. We have zero shot to win it all this year with our bench unit as currently constructed, with guys who will struggle to defend Lebron, Kawhi and George, and with no toughness.

So waive NWG as well and bring up one or both of Morgan and Brantley. Get them minutes and experience. Embrace their mistakes. It’ll all pay off in the playoffs.

Yep Faried would be a great addition

This is all nuts. This FO is a trip.

Here is what likely happened... DL is closing up shop yesterday talking to JZ...

DL: Hey I’m headed out of town for the holidays with KOC... man I love that guy. Anywell plane will be in the air a couple hours... should all be quiet but if anything comes up go ahead and get it done.

JZ: cool have a good trip

DL: oh and did you send my Exum memo and advanced balance beam video to Quin? Make sure he knows it’s time to start playing him... we are big believers in Dante.

JZ: cool... have a nice trip

DL: (whistling walks out the door.)

JZ: (Grabs his phone) Quin he’s gone... you know what to do... no... no... we aren’t going to murder him. Call everyone and see what we can get... make it happen now... remember no murdering people.

JZ grabs a cigar lights it up: Merry Christmas Bambi

He put up 13/8 last year.
Meh just give Morgan and Brantley a shot... there is potential there... if we need a vet option I prefer Booker.

If Brantley gets a little more under control and gets more consistent with his shot he could be a stud. Morgan looks like he needs to drop 15 lbs but might have enough skill to give us more right now. Either guy could give us the energy boost the bench needs.

No... everyone please remember.... WE CANT TRADE FOR FAVORS THIS LEAGUE YEAR. IT. AINT. HAPPENING.

Not true. Cleveland is going to want to salary dump Exum before the deadline and they’ll trade him to NOP for Favors and since Koby Altman has a “buy-3-get-1-free” policy, he’ll release Favors so he can re-sign with us.

If he’s a rotation guy then that’s like getting a lotto pick

I don't know if he had maturity issues or academic issues or what but his back story in college doesn't make a ton of sense considering he apparently had an NBA body and athleticism since he was 18.

He may just be a legit late bloomer skill set wise. The Jazz had to guarantee money to get him so they must view him as a first round talent - which is cause to get excited.

Also, this is where Donovan high character asset comes into play for the organization. He could be the first of many he takes under his wing.

WTH - it's Christmas. I'll allow myself to be overly optimistic for a couple days.
