1-for-1 Clarkson flip possibilities

Taking on more salary when Royce needs to be resigned and Mitchell is coming due is probably not a prudent course for the Jazz. Anyway, I think that Clarkson's play will render Mudiay superfluous. I would trade Mudiay.
Mudiay straight up for 6'11" stretch four/five Mike Muscala of the Thunder.
 
Won't trading Mudiay send a negative message to players who want to come to Utah?
He specifically told agent to sign with Utah to develop his game.
Now they trade him away midseason.
Seems like a very bad idea for Jazz.
 
FWIW, I’m pretty sure Jamychael Green is a UFA at year end. I’d offer that dude the full MLE in a heartbeat. I’m guessing that wouldn’t be enough to snag him though.
 
This isn't 2k. I'd be shocked if the Jazz traded for Clarkson just to trade him away less than two months later. They held on to Dante forever. They liked the guy a lot. They wouldn't have traded him for Clarkson if they didn't like Clarkson a ton too.
 
I could see making a case to flip Clarkson in a deal for any of Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Marcus Morris, Gary Harris, Evan Fornier, Justise Winslow or Thaddeus Young. Pretty much every other guy they can afford to trade for would be a downgrade from Clarkson for the rest of this year.

Is Gary Harris being shopped? I’ve always been a fan.

I like all those dudes and would be happy with a Clarkson trade for any of them...... Though I also like clarkson

They traded him to get off Dante (Clarkson expires, Dante doesnt). I doubt they are any way that enamored with Clarkson when he's essentially Burks with less overall talent outside of shooting. And supposedly Dante had looked like **** in practice and had lost athleticism, and that is literally all that made Dante a viable NBA player.

Jazz FO was also probably tired of all the Exum talk.
 
Man, Clarkson for Morris would be a-****ing-mazeballs. Probably less than a 1% chance of it happening but that solves our stretch 4 issues which include overall play there, rebounding, and defense on the Lebrons and Kawhis of the world. It also solves some of our scoring issues, perhaps even more than Clarkson does, as he affords us more lineup possibilities and he would also be a good match with Davis on our bench unit. We could start him and then bring Royce in around the 6:00 mark of the 1st and 3rd to play the 4.

A pipe dream though.
