It's early Monday morning and I'm gettin' nervous for Thursdays announcement. Hoping and wishing both Donovan and Rudy making it! Let's go!

I'm tempering my expectations. I think Rudy makes it but the nostalgia vote puts Westbrook, Dame, et al over Donovan. Not this year for Donovan imo.

I’m fairly confident that both Mitchell and Gobert make it. Every national media person I’ve seen have both of them as locks.

I feel the same, but I was also surprised on the breakdown of votes between players and media for starters. It seemed the media was giving them way more credit than the players were. Obviously coaches are a different story, but I would have thought players would have been a different story, too.

I think Gobert is a 100% lock. 3 frontcourt players get in mandatory with 2 backcourt and 2 wildcards.

Jokic and Gobert are locks and I would guess Ingram gets in as well. Then there are too many talented guards so the 2 wildcards will be guards.

Essentially 5 players battling for 4 spots.

Mitchell, Lillard, Westbrook, Booker and Paul.

Besides Lillard if any of those make it over Mitchell it’s a complete joke. I think Mitchell will make it over atleast one of those guys.

They both have to make it this year! Next year, it'll be extremely tough for the both of them to get in. Curry, Thompson, PG, Towns, Porzingis, Derozan, Booker, Zion, Ja and even Draymond will in the mix. It's scary how talented the west is.

derozan?

Btw wouldn't it be funny and satisfying when both Rudy and Donovan become All Stars on Thursday as they play the same nba team that traded them? By that, I mean the Denver Nuggets.

By the way, I’m not that bent outta shape about Hayward but how funny would/will it be if he never makes another ASG or finals appearance. WHOOPS.

Locke seemed to think that haywood’s move was driven by these factors.

He was also hurt that Haywood did not say goodbye to him. Some in the press get so star struck and they think they have a personal relationship with players when the guys are just being polite or manipulative

Rudy will make it for sure.
Don's chance is not 100%. There are tons of things in his favor. He's the leading scorer of an arguably top-5 team... likeable character, up and rising star, slam dunk champ etc..

On the other hand his advanced stats are not so good, particularly defensively. At the beginning of the season he had shown significant improvement on that side. Later in the season he has been underwhelming though. Also sharing the floor with our infamous bench that starred Jeff Green hurt his stats.

It really depends on when the coaches did their ballots. If the Jazz are in 2nd place, they should have 2 all stars.

It would also be very satisfying if they both make it and Hayward doesn't, especially considering how much harder it is to make it in the west because there is so much more talent.
