What's new

How many days, months, years do we need to wait on Conley now?

So you want to argue your semantics versions of difference makers?

No thanks

Conley is a great vet who will be a difference maker.
How is he going to make a difference? You still haven't answered this question other than your "this one time, at band camp" canned responses. Or are you just going to continue to stand on your normal ad hominem "arguments"?

Middleton, sure. They are completely different without him.
Yep. That's why he's now overpaid just like Conley. MIL better capure their opportunity and win a championship within the next few seasons or else Middleton’s bad contract is really gonna start to hurt once they've missed the window.

Say all you want. Still waiting on you justifying your own argument. Just what kind of difference is Conley gonna make comes playoffs? To help us go from first round onto the second round? lol

Even Billy King makes more sense than you. at least he overpaid to get washed proven superstars of their generations. And we overpaid to get a Atlanta Hawks version of Mike Bibby so we can linger in the first/second round of playoffs even more. Wow, what a difference

Your an impatient one aren’t you. It’s been only 27 games and he’s been injured with a hammy. I never wanted to trade for him and was pissed we gave up two firsts and our depth, but c’mon man give him some time.
Is over half a season really impatient for some to even be average on the court?

While getting paid 30mil a year for it.

I'd certainly hope Conley would turn himself into GSW's Iguodala sorta figure for us. But Iguodala surely wasnt paid at Conley's level when he was with GSW

Willfully ignoring the most recent half a season is far more moronic than recognising that the past is the past.

I have some faith that Conley will fit the system, will pick his spots, will move the ball, and make the offense flow well without being a defensive liability. It's a shakey faith, but it's still faith. What we need is for Conley to shoot better. He's been around 30% from 3pt this season, and he needs to boost that by 8 points if he's going to play big minutes.

Everyone will feel better about him if he'll just hit his open looks.

Edit: He's up to 34% on 3s. Just needs to boost a few more percentage points.

Well said. I can get behind that. I really want to see him succeed because it means we will. Right now it looks like a huge bust though. I still wish they would consider trading him. We have a much bigger hole at PF/C than we do at PG.

It takes two to trade. Who would want a $30M boat anchor.

Really though, how can the Jazz realistically take advantage of having Conley instead of it being a negative?
Is he a starter at point, I'd say no. Mitchell and Ingles run the team better.
Is he a 6th/7th man, maybe. Mudiay probably fits that role best. Can a lineup with Mudiay Conley and Clarkson work?
Is he better off as a 3rd string player/coach.
The whole team played much better and smarter when he wasn't getting minutes. Granted they played the eastern conference part of the schedule so that's definitely part of it.

Geez, more conspiracy theories without a shred of truth. I have never see Conley pout, the guy is always upbeat and engaged with his teammates. It has been unfortunate that Mike got hurt to just dump him because his performance has been subpar is ridiculous.

The season is half over and the pickings are slim. Personally, I think he will make a difference down the stretch. It is a big adjustment coming off the bench and playing with a new team especially for a PG who played in a entirely different system.
The reports were from ESPN. You can choose to believe it or not, but it boils down to his dad being a liar or junior throwing him under the bus.

Yeah Conley wanted to go where there was less competition and we are seeing why. I don't blame him if what he was looking for was the accolades. To his credit he has been a generally positive influence off the court and handled the move as a professional. Too bad he can't compete on the court. But this is all another reason to look at a trade with an Eastern conference team, as Conley would likely be on board with it.

But Conley gotta show that he wants to be here though. So far we've only seen a player who's just going through the motion, collecting his money and couldn't care less. He was literally smiling and goofing around in Toronto when we were down by as many as 40

He seems to be playing hard to me. I find it really perplexing that he is struggling mightily against 2nd and 3rd team guys. I knew he wasn't going to be great, but I never would have expected him to be so trash.

Some of you need to be reminded how good this dude actually is.
Here is a game vs Utah in 2019

You do realize how many touches he’s had in this game right? You do realize that the pick n roll set that made this dude "good" in this video won't work with Rudy cuz the defenders could close down on him knowing Rudy wouldn't be draining those midrange jumpshots in defenders faces like what Noah, JV and Rabb did in this game right? You do reliaze those high floaters he made in rudy's face in this video are actually poor shot selections and quin would not tolerate it here in Utah, right?
