2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

If we make a move it will likely be in the Maker price range... I don’t have much hope that he’s a useful player or an improvement over TB. He’d be more useful though for purposes of combining two players when @infection figures out how to make that technology work... I imagine he’s in his garage tweaking the flux capacitor and will have it done any day now.

What are the rules on trading Royce now that he’s signed an extension? I don’t think it’s gonna happen, but he’s got to be one of our few assets and I’m curious.

Conley and some sort of draft compensation for Parsons and Collins? Maybe include Davis too if they want him?

Conley could be a great mentor for Trae. Atlanta isn't a free agent destination so Conley's big salary next year isn't that bad. Plus, Evan Turner is gone after the season so they will still have money.

Collins immediately improves our thin front court. We would waive Parsons.

Donovan
Joe
Bojan
Collins
Gobert
6th Man Royce

If the Jazz traded for him he would be behind Bradley and Niang in the rotation. He wouldn't get Niangs minutes. Niang is a better shooter and for better or worse that's why he's on the floor. It's what Quin wants on the floor. And he wouldn't get Bradley's minutes because Bradley has more experience in the system and is frankly a better player.
Having more experience in our system is nice. But Maker has experience playing D in the playoffs. He was a game changer for the bucks in their series versus the Celtics in 2018 and guarded from 1 to 5 so well that basketball breakdown even did a video about it. I wouldn't trust niang or Bradley more than Maker defensively. If we need to make some 3s to get back into the game, then niang makes some sense. But that is not why we lost the last 4 games, as we shot well above 36% from deep in each of these 4 games. And it's hardly like niang contributed much to our shooting either. As he shot 3 of 13 from 3 during that span.

Thon Niang FTW.

So Detroit "may engage in deals regarding Wood". He has been playing well and I would love him here but it would probably require a late first or/and a young player.

Houston could redirect whatever draft compensation they get for Capela if they deal him and just play Wood at center whenever they need to go over 6'6.

If we think Turner can play the 4 some, he should be the target, not Collins, imo. He’s a two way player and doesn’t need to take 18 shots a game to make an impact. Collins blows on d methinks (the team does) and is gonna demand a max contract in two years.

Play Turner 15 minutes behind Gobert at the 5, and maybe like 10 at the 4 if we think he can play there.

Trade them Conley, Brantley, Davis for Turner and a semi-bad contract!!!

as much as I want Conley gone I don't think he is gonna get traded. this makes me angry and sad at the same time

I think the only deal they'd be interested in (that doesn't involve a million pieces) would be Turner for Clarkson.

Everyone requires a 1st evidently. Morris, Covington (two), Wood, I assume Baynes...except not everybody has 1sts to offer or is willing to part with one.

If we could swing Clarkson and Davis (18.2M combined) for Turner, I’d be down. We needed Clarkson’s offense badly yes. But the return of Conley and addition of Turner would help offset his loss in such a trade imo. And we’d upgrade our defense a lot. But again, I only do this if I think Turner can play the 4 some. I have no idea whether he can or can’t.
