According to Tony Jones, the Jazz would've held onto Exum forever.

However, despite that Mike SHOULD be moved, it does seem a long shot.
I'd reframe that a bit. The Jazz used a #5 pick on Exum and held on to that hope forever and ever. DL loved Favors. He also loved Crowder. He had just traded two second rounders for Kyle Korver. He had just drafted Grayson Allen. DL gave up all that, plus two draft picks, to get Mike Conley. If Exum for 6 years, Mike Conley is getting more than 6 months.

The Jazz weren't playing for a championship for 6 years and Mike is this team's biggest obstacle in playing like it. We have two post-season chances and then the likelihood this team can build something as good or better plummets dramatically.

I can’t see Mike being moved. If he is, just do Conley for Horford. At this point, based on how atrociously the Sixers have been playing, we may be able to snag a 1st out of them too.

I think it just makes too much sense for both teams tbh.

Horford will be old as f when that contract is over.

Yeah I think that we make a move. It won't be a blockbuster but we will make a move to try to improve around the core. The Jazz are trying to win it all this year.

Ed Davis obviously doesn't fit the system well. Emmanuel Mudiay has an expiring contract and we are VERY unlikely to keep him around next season. It's easier to keep Clarkson. The addition of Clarkson has pushed Mudiay out of the rotation too. I think at least one of those two is moved for an upgrade at backup center.

If that doesn't happen the Jazz will pick someone up in the buyout market.

They won't stand pat.

Jazz will definitely make a move, it won't be Clarkson. Unfortunately, it won't be Conley. Mudiay possibly, Davis guaranteed.

If the Lakers want Morris and the Knicks want Kuzma, we should trade some of our "waiveable" players like Oni and NWG plus a 2nd to the Knicks for one of their lower level guys (Dotson, Trier, etc.). Then the Knicks waive the guys we send them. Then, the Knicks could take 3 or 4 players from the Lakers for Morris. Then, the Lakers could also be players in the buyout market. So...

Utah trades Oni, NWG and a 2nd for Trier or Dotson

Lakers trade Avery Bradley, McGee, and Kuzma to New York for Morris and some kind of draft compensation

Lakers then sign the best buyout guys they can.

Seems smart for all sides.

The Jazz traded Exum--a guy making $10M/year this season and next who hasn't stayed healthy and who hasn't shown he can play much when he is healthy. Think about that for a moment.

I'm certain the Jazz can make moves.

Conley's contract fits with Gobert and Mitchell's extensions, not the Horford's contract.

Because DL overpaid Cavs 2 second rounders for four months rental of 38 yr old KK. Cavs is just returning the favor. Won't apply to every case
