What's new

Mitchell and gobert all stars officially.

None of the Jazz players will be competing in the skills challenge, 3 point contest or dunk contest. I doubt any of them were even invited. I really wanted to see Bogey in the 3 point contest.

I propose :
- Mike Conley in the dunk contest
- Rudy Gobert in the 3 pts contest
- Ed Davis in the skills challenge

I was really hoping Donovan would be part of the 3 point contest. He could be the first guy ever to win the dunk contest AND 3 point contest.

Well beyond being in the 3pt contest he'd actually have to win it for that to happen. Do you think that's realistically possible?

I think there is a chance. If he makes it to the knockout round, it would be better than any dunk contest winner ever.

MJ did the 3 point contest and only got 5. Would love to see how many Donovan could get.

Well, neither player has looked like an All Star since it was announced. Donovan has made Craig look like an All Star, and Gobert made Whiteside look like an all star...

I'm not saying this is what is happening, but how often have we seen a letdown from players who reach a coveted milestone? Get that big contract after a "contract year" and the stats fall off across the board. Get to the playoffs, and the effort falls off losing the series. Get selected to the all-star game and lose focus. It happens in the professional world and in our lives all the time too. Maybe it's just human nature, but it damn sure feels like that in this case. Mitchell and Gobert get selected and their play drops off precipitously. I hope they get their heads on straight sooner rather than later.

It feels like after these two made it in, they simply stop caring and gone with the flow. There's no hunger from them anymore, I hope it's not true.
