Jazz @ Rockets 5:00 PM MT Game Thread

3 starters played terrible. If not for Clarkson going off that's another loss.

There is no luck in Clarkson and Conley having good games against the Rockets switching defense. Joe has always struggled against it. Rudy doesn't punish small players. Jordan was incredible in beating his más off the dribble and getting all the way to the rim (Rockets have no rim protection now). Conley did the same. Both were very capable in attacking the switch. Donovan was more effective once Harden got into foul trouble. Again, Jordan and to a lesser degree Conley having good games was no luck but part of the game plan.

There is nothing about luck in beating the Rockets on the road. There was a clear game plan. We saw some improvement tonight and we should all enjoy this win.
I fully enjoy it. But I still recognize a lucky shot for what it was.

Yeah, the shoot maybe. But you don't get to a single possession game by luck. It was a great team effort and a solid win. It could have ended before when Bojan had a relatively easy 3 from the right (up 2 with about 40 seconds left). Or if PJ missed his 3. Anyway, good game.

Truly loving the effort JC is putting in this away win. But at the same time, scaring me how much he's going to ask and is he staying a jazzman for more years. I guess it'll depend on how far this team will go into the playoffs.

Harden was way less dominant than usual against us. We forced Harden and crew to beat us and that is rare.

The jazz defense finally showed up and took something away. Nice to see after a porous few weeks.

Adore Clarkson. Thought Joe was my guy, but Jordan is starting to be in the conversation as my favourite Jazzman. What do you guys think? Clarkson or Ingles jersey? I need some merch in my life.

Ingles has a contract beyond this season. Safe choice is Ingles.

Fantastic win after a string of brutal tough games. Even the win vs. Portland was rough.

We seem to give up wide open 3s late in games. That will kill us come playoff time.

Positives are Jordan is a super sub, and Conley looks a little better.

That`s what I was thinking. Also, his 00 number looks a little strange to my eyes as a hockey fan and it turns out I`m a bit of a traditionalist. Maybe i should just be vanilla and grab Mitchell's or do we think he's Brooklyn bound at some point?

Clarkson is putting up pretty much the same numbers for the Jazz that he has his entire career. The only difference is now he's doing it in games that matter rather than perpetual garbage time.

If he's smart (and I think he is) he'll embrace his situation in Utah and re-up on an Ingles-like deal.

Quin was going to put him in at the four minute mark and asked Clarkson what he thought. It was Clarkson's call not to go back in saying "We were playing well. We were scoring and rotating defensively. I did my role... Let them rock."
Is that what he said at the 4-min mark? I thought that quote was attributed to what he said before the final play
