I think the league is so much more entertaining when you have low post players of this ilk. Can you imagine what Boozer would do against the Rockets small ball lineup? Watching these highlights made me think that Boozer is an interesting comp for Zion. Obviously Zion is a rich man's modern version, but Boozer dominated inside with a combination of speed, strength, and athleticism while being undersized and a sub-par defender in space.
Sub par defender in space is giving him way too much credit. He was a poor defender, and dreadful in space.

No, it’s too early to tell. Defensively he’s as bad as Bozo. Offensively, though different games, they’re fairly similar as well. So now, let’s see how Bogey plays in the playoffs. Bozo was huge at times.

Right now Bojan is not even in the top five:
1) Boozer
2) Memo
3) Rickey Green
4) Harpring
5) Ingles
6) Bojan
If Bogey finishes out his contract at this same level then he will move up, but unless Jazz win a title in then next few years it is hard to imagine Bojan makes top 3.

There is a serious lack of love for Matt Harpring in this thread! That dude was awesome as a player, as a tone setter, as a leader, and in the locker room. He was going to go hard all the time!
Looks like the legit list.

Bogey is almost serviceable. Boozer was bad defensively.

I like Harpring, but I rate Bogey above him.

Jazz traded for a perennial all-star HOF player not even mentioned so far...

The thing I found most grating about Boozer is after watching him for 5 years I'm convinced his bad defense was due to a lack of effort rather than a lack of ability.

You can't average a double/double if you're on the bench due to foul trouble - my guess is this notion was tattooed on the inside of Boozer's eyelids.

Bogey is limited on defense but I don't think it's because a lack of effort.

Boozer wasn't bad on defense, he was horrible. I'll never forget the time Mike Bibby took him one-on-one and made him look like an old man the way his feet got twisted. He had almost no lateral movement ability. So far as the list, it's too early to tell, but I think Boyan is as good or better than any of those players. No one, not even Memo could shoot like him.

I made my list considering both player PEAK and LONGEVITY. I think most people would say Bogey this year has been better than peak Harpring (although I think Matt his first year was a similar quality player), but the longevity isn't even close. Hapring contributed for 7 years, 6 of them at a high level, during an important and successful period for the franchise.
