What's new

Moe Harkless!!!

First, no.

second, and I could be wrong, maybe the rule has changed, but isn’t there a rule that says if you trade two first rounders in consecutive years or two in one, you have you can’t trade a first the following year? Is that right or wrong?
We could make the pick then trade it draft night.

I'd consider it honestly... this year's draft ain't the best at the top... not sure how deep it is. I'd want to know the mental stuff with Knox and if he's a worker. I just don't know how a young guy is supposed to be successful in that environment. Front office is clueless... rotating coaching staff... constant media circus.

His numbers are so, so bad... and when I've watched him I've been thoroughly unimpressed. He's young and has the physical profile that if he figures it out then he's extremely valuable. I'm not shocked they don't just go young/development because they dumb AF and their current coach is trying to get the job... but it seems like the logical thing to do... yet Knox sits all too often.

If our development staff is really good then these are the type of projects we should give them. I wouldn't love trading whoever we draft and Ed for Knox, but I'd understand and I'd be intrigued.

Knox has played SF almost exclusively next to non-floor spacing bigs with trashy pgs... I get it he has sucked, but its almost like the Knicks got together this offseason and were like " how can we stunt the development of our young guys? Let's get a bunch of guys that play the spots they should, but also don't provide them space to operate... if we can do that and get ****** point guards then we can really help them suck".

I think Knox is currently a tech stock that everyone has written off... if it pops then people will say "of course once he got out of NY he figured it out... so obvious" or he will just fade into the darkness and bust. I'd like to see what he looks like in a functional environment as a four before completely writing him off.

We traded the 2019 1st and 2021 1st you idiot. You can’t trade 1sts in back to back years.

Nice thought but we are without a first round pick the next two years.
Please don't ever correct me... or at least do so knowing you have a 99% of being wrong. On draft night we can make a pick and trade it...

I did look at Kevin Knox a little harder... would not trade a first for him... wouldn't mind picking him up if they just want to dump him, but probably wait a year and sign him when they don't pick up his 4th year rookie option.

Lol

and this.

I was tantalized by Knox coming out of the draft, but he isn’t worth a first right now. I’d love for the jazz to get in on his rehabilitation for the right price.

Did we make the trade before the 2019 draft?
1. The trade was after, so we didn’t technically trade that pick (in terms of Stepien rule).
2. We’re talking about making the selection for someone else and making the trade “after,” so even if we traded the 2019 pick, it’s irrelevant. Likewise, even if we owed 2021 unprotected, we can still trade 2020 after making the selection.

My confusion was I thought we traded the 2020/2021 picks for Conley. That makes more sense now.
