Getting diddled by Hayward: a game thread

I would keep Rudy. I would keep Bojan. I would keep Royce. I would reduce Joe Ingles' role. The Jazz are actually just one player away, imo, but that player is an athletic, dynamic wing who can shoot, pass, drive and defend at a high level.
You could add Tatum, Kawhi, Siakim or a similar guy to Rudy, Bojan, Royce and limited Joe and be about where we are right now.

Clarkson has led to wins. Donovan has led to wins. Our issue is that we lack numerous perimeter defenders. We lack switchable strong defenders.

I watch this team and think that healthy Favors and Crowder compliment the roster better than Gobert. Yes Gobert helps us beat the below .500 teams but he struggles against the upper echelon teams that have waves of good athletic players.

And I agree with whoever said it - something is wrong between Rudy and Donovan.

last season everyone knew shooting was a problem, so the FO "tried something different" by exchanging favs/rubio/crowder for conley/bojan.

now everyone know size/athleticism/hustle is a problem. so the FO will again "try something different" by letting go conley/bojan, bringing back favs/crowder.

just wait

Can we do that right now? Last year’s team was at least watchable

I turned the game off after Smart hit those all those 3s in a row. Effort seemed a lot better to me, but Tatum just wrecked us. Niang was playing the D of his life on a few possessions and Tatum just nailed side step jumpers in his face. Jazz just don't have the bodies to make elite offensive forwards uncomfortable.

I do want to say... TB was much better last night and was very active... I'd like to see that more. Still absolutely invisible at the rim on defense, but hell... even Rudy seems invisible lately.

Niang was good too... we need to see that more if those are the guys we are riding off the bench.

Quin Snyder: it’s not the result we wanted obviously, but I thought we made a pure effort. I saw a team that was committed to defending and playing together

He cannot possibly be f****** serious

Committed to playing together? Like wtf? Conley was brought in and one of his top pririties if not the top, should be to develop chemistry with Gobert. $30 million isn't even enough for him to do that. Fail.

My hatred for Ingles has been growing quite rapidly. He's been beyond terrible, I agree. All he is good for now, is running his mouth and is too slow footed and doesn't back up his game at all with that ugly mug of his.

How is Ingles getting a pass here. He's been beyond terrible lately.
Can't blame Ingles or any of the players too much when they don't have a leader. Yeah they all need to step up but it's no wonder they don't play much as a team anymore.

Ingles > conley. Don't diss Ingles he helped build us up to this stage. Conley is a loser and hasn't and will not do anything more than just suck more.

I get that it's not sustainable to hit at the rate he was in January but his pnr with Rudy has practically disappeared lately. Where is that fake pass and layup move he was doing so great before gone?

Ingles doesn't seem right man, maybe all this drama is getting to him.
