The official: Rudy isn't max money.

I didn't want to do this or say this but the dude is almost useless out there against nontraditional centers. Even when the Rockets had Clint, Clint still owned him the majority of time.

Now with all these teams people smaller, quicker, 3 point shooters. Rudy is left on the outside looking in.

He complained about not getting the ball enough but at least and I mean AT THE VERY LEAST someone tries to bounce pass him the ball, shuffle pass, ANY type of pass, and isn't catching that **** at all or is an automatic turnover.

Now I love Rudy and I hope we keep him but no way at max,
He's been in the league a good while now and still has almost 0 offensive game

I haven’t seen anyone on this board say Rudy is worth the supermax. I definitely think it’s time to start exploring trading him this offseason. He complains about not getting enough touches but he can’t even catch the ball. Plays like tonight where he had Royce wide open in the corner for a 3 yet decided to try and take it to the rim then got swatted is momentum killing.

I would definitely Trade Rudy for Brown, Baynes, and bring back Favors in the offseason

Definitely not worth the supermax, that's obvious.

Rudy is worth the super-max (or at least as much as any player can be who isn't one of the top mega-stars).

The team has gotten way more selfish.

Bogey, Clarkson, and Mitchell are taking terrible shots and missing Gobert for easy looks at least twice a game. Yes, throwing some passes to Gobert is a bad idea, but they are missing easy looks that have a high completion rate. Passing to Gobert is different than most players, but it's not some impossible task.

We went out and got a PF shooter. We have a young wing who scores 24+ a night. We have solid role players to do the dirty work and spread the floor. We improved our PG spot to clear up more post space.

Still, we can't beat good teams while Rudy is less and less effective. Outside of pairing Rudy with a superstar lineup like LA and LA, I don't see a better fit than right here. And it's not working.

Rudy ain't worth the max much less super max.

We could always try giving him the rock. He’s consistently just chilling under the basket and no one throws it up to him. Which is weird because he and favors were lob city last year.

15 PPG at 70% FG pretty good numbers for a guy with no offensive moves (maybe an occasional eurostep). I'm sure people thought the athletic 7'1 Tyson Chandler would eventually have an offensive game....he never cracked 12 PPG in his career.

This game is 100 percent on Mitchell, Conley, and bogie. They’re supposed to be our 1-3 offensive weapons. They’re paid big bucks to do so. Especially Bogie, since he’s useless if he’s not scoring.

We lose when Royce and Jingles are our leading scorers.

Gobert is currently frustrated as he was at the start of the season. He wants more touches because he is tired of hearing that he is useless in offense.
His frustration leads to a lack of involvement in defense.

Mike Conley's return changes USG% and %FGA and destroyed the balance that had been found in december and january.
DM, Conley, Clarkson and Bogey tend to overplay to preserve their stats and ignore Gobert.

It really doesn’t help that the one guy that can get Rudy involved is now coming off the bench.

Is this comment for real!!? Please tell me that you didn't just suggest that Aron Baynes is a better option than Gobert!!!??? LMAO!!!!!!!! You're being sarcastic right???

Hardly any of the passes that go inside to him are crisp and clean/intended passes to him. They're desperation "OH S***" passes and of course he's going to fumble the ball under those circumstances.
You don't even realize the problem with the offense. When we played the Houston Rockets on Feb 22nd, they had traded Clint Capella and Rudy was being guarded by a guy 6'6 or under almost the entire game. He only shot 6 shots. Why!!!??? We had a mismatch the entire game but didn't have a strategy to get him the ball. We lost by 10 pts that game and we should've punished them. Rudy is not the problem.

I have been saying this exact thing for a few seasons now. Cries about touches but can't catch the ball.

Another thing that really irks me is the constant complaining to the refs and throwing tantrums on the court while the other team is off to the races cause he just turned it over.

NBA championships are won by wings not big men. Outside of Shaq and Hakeem, has their been a title winner with a center relied on as much as Rudy in the last 40 years?

Paying Gobert $30 million is questionable, but paying him $40+ makes the Conley trade look like a brilliant move.

Trading Gobert for somebody like Jaylen Brown would be savvy for both sides. Boston could afford to pay Gobert to go with their abundance of scoring talent. We could build a formidable team around Mitchell and Brown long term since Brown is signed to a long contract.
