My Quarantine

I was just jabbing ya. Families with little kids are going to have it tough. I think I'm more lucky on that front with one 12 year old who we can have conversations and teaching moments over the effects of the Coronavirus with. That's much less stressful than a household with young kids in small spaces who can't yet process why mommy and daddy never leave the house anymore while only wanting all of your attention. These are unfortunate times. I do hope it all works out for you guys.

It's honestly not a big deal. It's cliched but I'll take it one day at a time. 30 days or so is nothing in that regard. So far as explaining it to the kids, whatevs. We just said there are germs so schools and businesses are closed to minimize sicknesses. We'll make the best of it. My wife is taking them for a short walk now.

Like honestly, we're sitting at home. I'll be bored. The kids will tick me off some. The wife even more I'm sure. But this is nothing compared to those who have to serve overseas. Compared to living every day of one's life in extreme squalor.

I think I’m gonna inventory all the food we have and keep track of what is used and after a week and that pace, figure out how long the remaining food should last.

I ain't quarantining. I got a date on Fri night. To hell with Corona....I'm willing to risk catching an STD (Socially Transmitted Disease). Actually, it's dinner and movies at her house. If you've got to quarantine, do it with someone you like.

Well I'm ****ed then

I've already sent my son to his room four times and the oldest to hers. The last time I told both of them that they're there til lunch. I told them I'm not putting up with ****. I don't want to hear any whining crying or tantrums. And yet...

Oh yeah, by the way, my son just ran down the hallway and went back into the playroom, I can only assume because my wife called him back. So much for being a fortified front. ****in' Judas.

It's nice here today. My son has peaked with his terrible 3's the last two days (great timing) so we took the kids out back and got them running around for about an hour. Get the respiratory in and some sun which people say could help. It certainly couldn't hurt. I do think I'm more tired than usual from the running I was doing. I still feel a bit funny in my lungs. Just praying I'm fine through late next week. My dad is going for a 32 mile bike ride today. Dude's 71 y/o and a champ. He'll average around 16-17mph.

Very pleasantly surprised at how much work my students have done from home thus far. Every kid did yesterday's work in my elective class and about 90% of my English students did the work which was not easy. They didn't do a great job but they tried (or cheated maybe) which is saying something as these are 9th graders reading a few grades below grade level, at home in the 5th poorest town in the state and they at least tried somehow to read the above grade level text to get er done. Stoked.

My 12 year old's at home work started yesterday. 4 hours a day. She was on FaceTime with her friends the entire time. Sounded like it went very well.

Gotta love those sentence diagrams

Good day today. The kids are being better behaved. My daughter’s laptop is annoying as ****. The mouse won’t work remotely properly. I’m tempted to have her not do any work, be retained, and just go from being one of the youngest to the oldest in kindergarten next year...and the smartest too.

almost through three days quarantined. Not bad at all. Weather blows.

Someone at work offered to sell me TP. I told her where to go and that she’s be forced to smell my *** in time. Ok, I didn’t tell her she would smell my ***, but the rest is true.

I assume the asking price was a huge markup. People are awful.

I went for a 15-20 minute walk tonight. Nothing tiring at all. Just wanted to get some fresh air. I’d jog but I’m afraid I’ll blow out my Achilles or calf as my plantar is so shaky right now. I feel fine. My lungs might actually even feel a tiny bit better than the last few days.
