Look, I'll be real. 6 months! Get the **** out of here with that. I'm not going to make it 6 months in isolation (even just sort of isolation) only to emerge into a world with a destroyed economy.

I mean are we talking about rebooting human civilization right now? Because that almost seems like what we're doing.

I don't want people to die, but I also don't want to enter a new completely self inflicted dark age, either.

I'm with the crowd that thinks we shouldn't shut down the economy. I mean everyone is still going to get this thing eventually right? So it probably won't even save lives really to shut everything down AND we destroy so many more lives by killing the economy.
I get that we want to flatten the curve to help the hospitals and stuff. How about we train way more people to help at the hospitals. Teach me how to do an IV. Let me clean linens from the hospital. Train and hire tons of people to help at healthcare facilities. Dump tons of money into constructing more beds. Use the cruise ships. Covert factories into factories that make resperators and ppe and other medical supplies needed.

Keep most everything running but limit large gatherings and throw money, resources, and bodies at the healthcare industry.

That is what I think should be done.

You will save many lives. Everyone who gets a vaccine, everyone who gets a cure, everyone who does not die waiting for limited medical resources.

I already said what I would do about the limited medical resources.

I think we should really focus on making more medical supplies, more vaccinations (if they exist), more cures (if they exist) more hospital beds, more ventilators/resperators, more people trained to deal with the sick...... While keeping most businesses up and running. Keep social distancing regarding large gatherings. Educate people more about the virus and tell people not to go to the doctor unless truly necessary. Help the healthcare industry as much as possible. Throw all the money, resources, and bodies possible at the healthcare industry AND try to limit the negative effect on the economy.

I would try harder to treat the virus and less hard to stop it (I don't think it can be stopped at this point anyway)

A reboot would be better than what may be coming. What's coming will only heighten the seperation of the haves and have nots, and won't erase the national debt of $23.5 trillion and counting. No, a reboot is wishful thinking.

we are slowing the spread, people are infected later than otherwise.

if you are dead when a cure is found you stay dead. If you are alive you get the cure.

I’m saying cure here to include improved therapies that stop you from dying.

if you stay alive long enough to get the vaccine, then you may never get infected. The vaccine doesn’t help you if you are dead.

Hell no. Being president seems like it would suck ***. Even if you were literally the best president of all time and performed your job at the maximum level of perfection you would still have a huge percentage of the population who hated you and think you suck at your job.

People hate the **** out of me for a lot less money. Arseholes on the radio were going on about their concern for professional footballers on half pay and their mental health. I was like wanna swap? Im depressed staying home, doing nothing being paid 200k. Some people are ****ed so many ways i struggle to know where to begin.
