Following Potential 2020 draftees

I like the talent we're looking at in the teens and 20s of this draft better than 2018, tbh. When you're crossing your fingers hoping that guys like Josh Okogie and Chandler Hutchison drop, you're pretty desperate. This year's guys like Paul Reed, Jalen Smith and Jahmius Ramsey should be decent rotation players.

I rate it by talent. The fact that it’s being judged by the guys in the late first is obviously a terrible sign.

Talent? Who cares about talent? It's about results.

So if a draft that has 2 HOF's, 3 starters, and 10 career rotation players better than a draft that has 0 HOF's, 10 starters, and 15 career rotation players? It's all subjective and depends on where your team drafts.

It all depends on how you judge drafts. For the Jazz, the top end of the draft is basically irrelevant, which is what we care about.

Yes, because this is a star league. Stars win championships. Stars fill seats. Hopeful rotation players don’t move the needle on either.

nah this will go down an all time crapper

Impossible to predict. We've been doing this a long time. Remember the glorified draft of 2014? With Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, Aaron Gordon, Dante Exum, Julius Randle? Just oozing with talent or insane athleticism, none are superstars or even stars. Embiid turned out really good, but the best player came at Pick 41 in Jokic.

And you ignore my point of it depending on your team's draft position.

Does this draft suck for the Cleveland Cavs and New York Knicks? Yes

Does it suck for Utah? Remains to be seen and depends on who declares, very hard to predict.

I think Anthony Edwards is more or less as good a prospect as RJ Barrett last year. He would have benefitted from playing on a better team and in a more disciplined system.

The scouts and GM’s care about talent you ****ing dimwit. These kids haven’t played a game in the NBA so they have no results at that level. Christ, you’d argue with a ****ing chair.

In my personal opinion, I'd much rather have Anthony Edwards. For the Hawks this is actually relevant cuz they wanted to trade their 2 lotto picks for RJ last season.

The Hawks would be much better off with Anthony Edwards (and Reddish/Hunter) over lets say RJ in last years draft if the trade goes thru, and Deni Advija..

Insightful article on Jaden McDaniels. He has the pull-up game, but the question is whether he'll ever develop the strength and burst to get by defenders and finish inside.

McDaniels is a player who's gonna be a hot topic til draft day. I'd highly advise a wait and see approach before forming any sort of concrete opinion. Part of it is on the kid, how he prepares for the draft and what he works on and shows up to team workouts with, who knows.. he could blow some team away.. it only takes one team..

His saving grace, IMO, is his defensive potential.

have you considered that a lot of people havent seen LaMelo Ball play, or RJ Hampton, or Deni Advija , or Theo Maledon, or Killian Hayes?

Pretty big chunk of the consensus top-20 when u think about it..

Fact; The Chinese Virus has disrupted the annual process of whats been coined 'uncovering the warts' on the prospects at a critical point in the timeline..

you dont see articles about it cuz people still dont know whats gonna happen..

These kids didnt get to play during the normal apex point of public opinion... (and we all know, public perception is a fickle thing..)

this is somethign worthy of consideration..

Cuz right this years crop had not much hype (because of whats to come in the next few years..) going in, and never got a chance to really peak... To me, sounds like prime season for low-hanging fruit... the teams whos scouts really are good should thrive in this situation..

ya know? If there was this type of disruption back in the trey burke year, surely utah wouldnt have taken him in the lotto, but what he did in march changed his stock... see donte divichenzo.. shabazz napier... it's really a long *** list.. frank kaminsky.. derrick williams...

so for me, im weary of undue negativity... i think this is one of those opportunities where i see people sorta piling up, and idk if its warranted.. y'all know me, i like a case-by-case basis, anything else seems flawed.

Since the Jazz don't have a 2nd round draft pick I can see them bringing in a couple of BYU seniors, Utah State seniors, Utah and Boise State seniors each and let the hunger games begin to see if there might be a prospect or two in that bunch.
