- Rudy isolates to his house where he has a basketball court. Should have gotten in a lot of free throw reps.

- While we’ve got to watch COVID-19’s exponential growth, it’s also stifled Christian Wood’s exponential growth, thus making us think perhaps we’d have a better chance getting him than if the season closed naturally.

That’s all I’ve got for now and that last one is pretty sketch, tbh.

There is NO silver lining to this ****

My hope is that the silver lining will be that this utter catastrophe of the season is cancelled and Mike Conley signs with a team in Azerbaijani Second division.

The silver lining for me is realizing im not sad the season is suspended. I hope it gets canceled and I hope I don't feel compelled to follow the team or care about what they do ever again.

The silver lining to me is Rudy might have saved hundreds if not thousands of lives. Seriously. He ****ed up, yes. But had he not tested positive and that OKC game not gotten cancelled, and say he tested positive 2-3 days later, we lose 2-3 days of national awareness during which time virtually every major sport was canceled, and everyone in the country was like “Holy ****, this is getting very real.” He’s not a hero. He didn’t do anything positive per se. But his testing positive then rather than days later is really a blessing in disguise.

You are 100% correct in this assessment, however he will forever go down as "COVID Rudy" and be blamed, even if not explicitly, by every casual observer for causing the massive sports-pandemic in this country. Every single headline has been some variation of "Rudy Gobert first to test positive for COVID-19 - MLB CANCELLED!!!!" or some ****, so he is tied in a non-flattering way to all of this. So you are correct, and to anyone paying close attention this will become evident, but in the annals of COVID-19 and the end of sports for 2019-2020 seasons, he will forever be patient 0.

If we could land Wood I would have perma-wood for at least a full season. Let's go get Wood! I want wood! Wood wood Wood wood Wood wood!!

After millions of people die from this, I think very few people will remember or at least care that Rudy was the first NBA player diagnosed.

I think in the sports world it will die hard.

He made John Oliver. So he can at least say he has something in common with Joe Exotic.

If this season gets completely scrapped at least the Lakers will have one less banner to hang *shrug*

Depends actually. There is an obscure by-law that says if the season is scrapped by a certain date, which potentially can be retroactive, the team with the best record since February wins by default. That would be the Lakers at something like 14-3 in that time frame.

David Stern and the NBA gave a title to MJ in 1998 so it's only fair if they give one to LeBron too. People could say Kobe was also given one if you look at the Lakers/Kings series calls.
